  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

[Isaiah] Hodgson was “off-duty, intoxicated and armed with a handgun” at a restaurant in the Shoreline Village area of Long Beach when he approached a female in the women’s restroom, according to a statement issued last month by the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office. The woman complained to restaurant staff, who asked Hodgson to leave because guns were not allowed inside the eatery.

Long Beach police responded to the scene and contacted Hodgson, who fought with officers as they tried to detain him. Officers eventually subdued him with a stun gun, according to a Long Beach Police Department spokeswoman. Hodgson “refused to provide employment information” when questioned by officers, one of whom suffered a minor injury during the scuffle, police said.

[He was arrested and charged, but last Friday] “When deputies arrived, they located the male and pronounced him deceased. Deputies did not locate any evidence of foul play,” the statement read.

This guy was obviously not in a good state of mind and having a job were you’re made to be as cruel as possible to people - your own people - probably took it’s toll. I just wonder what kind of mental health screenings they’re doing at ICE or DHS now that they’ve laxed so many hiring requirements and what that means for the people being targeted by these potentially unstable federal agents who seem to be accountable to no one. The only reason this guy was even arrested was because he hit a cop.

Bodycam footage catches Border Patrol agent fighting Long Beach police

The Long Beach Police Department responded to the Shoreline Village Yard House on July 7 after an intoxicated Isaiah Anthony Hodgson, 29, allegedly went into the women's bathroom, approached a woman who saw his handgun and a firearm magazine.

Surveillance cameras show Hodgson leaving the restaurant and pulling out a handgun in the parking lot. He approaches a nearby security guard with the pistol in his hand. The security guard asked Hodgson to leave and told him that firearms are not allowed on the property, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.

Security cameras track Hodgson leaving the parking lot as officers arrive. He walks around a nearby park and dumps his handgun, which had Department of Homeland Security serial numbers, shortly before officers find him.

Bodycams show Hodgson resisting officers and slurring his words as he shouts, "I'm BP." It takes a handful of officers to wrestle Hodgson to the ground. Officers tased him before they could finally place him in handcuffs.

After being placed in the back of a patrol vehicle, still slurring his words, Hodgson repeatedly shouts expletives at the officers while claiming he's a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent and demands officers call "Bovino," referring to U.S. Border Patrol commander Gregory Bovino.

I love a happy ending!
