  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Members of the House Freedom Caucus and others joined with the Family Research Council on Thursday evening to pray against the rising tide of political violence in the United States and to invoke God's aid for what they described as a broken nation.

Led by Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, the group also asked for a blessing over President Donald Trump, wisdom amid the ongoing federal government shutdown, protection for Israel and for truth to prevail.

Glad they are praying but I'd be nice to see a more unifying prayer.

You can always pray yourself. :)
I do, I do, I do. I pray that God turns all people away from sin, including both sides of the political spectrum. There is a long way to go but I'll keep praying.

They knew that widening the income gap between the rich and poor (tax breaks, bailout options for the rich) is going to lead to this. Statistics prove this.

But whatever brings more money to their pockets. The love of money is the root of all evil.

I don't know what will work. Prayer? Or actually turning from their corrupt / flawed ways.
