  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just wish people would start being honest. Gun owners openly admit that they love their guns, but nobody wants to admit that they love their cocaine and fentanyl. Just admit it, people.
I know a lot drug addicts, that are Trump supporters.

illegal drugs are an illegal poisonous product.
That drug addicts need help to get off. We don't just blow up people, that may not be, or may be smuggling drugs.

You dont think that stopping the supply of drugs will help drug addicts get off them?

Yes they do need help. And we should help them. I'm all for it. The question does become, how many times, ten twenty, three?

There is only so much we can do for people who refuse to stay off. And maybe, staunching the flow will eventually help as well. If we make it much more difficult to obtain, it may help keep them off.

...while still allowing them to respond to attacks or defend U.S. interests.
So can they order the execution of people suspected of smuggling drugs? I'll let you check the various types statutes.

By blowing up suspected drug smugglers? Good grief, yes. And summarily executing people at the side of the road for DUI will guarantee a drop in the road toll.

Why do you ask? I'm not following the point you thought that you were making.

Note to Mexico: If you suspect a gringo is smuggling illegal weapons in to your country, you may simply kill him. After all, the smuggler is a an arms-terrorist. That's the new operating mode per our Trump. Summarily executie individuals based on suspicion. Suspicion that will never be proved in a court of law.

Smuggling in poison that has killed millions isn't tyranny, but it is narco-terrorism. And terrorists have it coming.
How do you feel about legislative terrorists? Do they have it coming too?

They’re having it hard down there. Look up anti gringo protests. They’re rallying against gentrification and want Americans out.

What is a "Narco-terrorist"? What are its defining characteristics that separates it from drug trafficking which is a crime, not an act of war?

You're equating Americans dying from illegal drugs with deployment of nuclear or biological or chemical weapons. I simply can't accept that equation.

Here we go. Sorry for the delay in getting this posted for you. This is nonpartisan, he's a Yale law professor explaining both sides of the legal argument and explaining the case Trump has and why it's probably perfectly legal for Trump to blow up boats.

....they want Americans and wealthy Mexicans out of previously affordable neighborhoods....

More germaine to the topic is the Mexican experience of going to war with the cartels starting with President Calderon in 2006. It was a bloody conflict that resulted in tens of thouands of innocent Mexicans being killed in the cross fire. Most Americans were oblivious of the carnage, which, after all, is a consequence of our demand for illegal drugs. And of course Mexico is not alone....from Colombia to El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala many people who had nothing to do with drug trafficking have died.

...and now Hegseth thinks blowing up boats will deter the drug cartels? Hardly, The boats and their occupants are disposable. As they have for decades, the cartels will simply start avoiding the US military and use other means to move their product.
