  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Isaiah 26:20-21KJV

20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

The Great Trib Will Be Upon The Antichrist And Wicked, The Church Is Protected, Dont Be Deceived

There's Going To Be An End Times Persecution, The Beast And His Kingdom Are The Target Of God's Empowered (Two Witnesses)

The Great Tribulation Will Come Upon The Wicked World, While The (Sealed Church) Is Protected

The (Sealed Church) will be present on earth and protected, when wicked men are tormented 5 months, desiring to die as death flees

All saved believers are (Sealed) by God, Eph 1:13, 4:30

Ephesians 1:13KJV

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 4:30KJV

30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

It Was Commanded, Only Those Without God's Seal Will Be Tormented, The Sealed Church Is Protected

Revelation 9:3-6KJV

3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.

5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

Plagues upon The Beast and his Kingdom, a remake of Moses/Aaron against Pharaoh of Egypt

Revelation 11:3-6

3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4 These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.

5 And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

Revelation 16:1-11KJV

1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.

2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.

5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.

6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.

8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

The "Tribulation" is probably the imperfect designation of the period of Antichrist's Reign. The "Great Tribulation," as defined by Jesus in Luke 21, was the period of Jewish Punishment taking place *throughout* the NT period. It is also called the "Jewish Diaspora."

This also was described in Dan 12.1 as being the time, following Antiochus 4, when Israel would be particularly challenged, there being a need to appoint the archangel Michael to protect them during this period. As we know, Rome arose to challenge Israel's very existence. And it has been such down through the NT ages, as various countries persecuted the Jewish People.

Clearly, it was a Jewish *Punishment.* But we can see that God called on Michael to preserve the Jewish People until the time of their national restoration.

So, if you're talking about the preservation of the Church during the 3.5 years of Antichrist's Reign, the book of Revelation was written to prove that fact. The "gates of hell will not prevail." Not only did Paul say that Christians would still be alive when Jesus returns but we are promised a resurrection to Eternal Life. That alone is a "preservation!"

There's been tribulation going on for the last two thousand years. And, yes, there is God's protection over His Church, Christ said, not even the gates of Hades shall prevail, and He said "I am with you always, even until the end of the age". As the Church trusts her Savior, she is kept safe in Him--even when the world presses against us.

We don't need to speculate about some "end times tribulation" when that's been the normative way of things since our Lord ascended, and it will be this way until He returns in glory.

And as I've been saying in a number of places, Jesus defined the Great Tribulation as a Jewish Punishment, the worst that's ever been, because it lasts for the entire NT age. It's called the Jewish Diaspora. Luke 21.

When that punishment began in 70 AD, the Christians were given a way of escape, but they had suffered persecution from rebellious Jews, which is the very thing that brought judgment upon the Jewish People in 70 AD. And believers both in Israel and in other nations would continue to suffer the sins of their own natives.

So, both believers and unbelievers in Israel suffered when the Romans conquered Jerusalem, though it was no fault of the believers. Tribulation is characteristic of this age, and we can't completely avoid it.

As you said, tribulation has been going on a long time, and antichrists have been around a long time. Fortunately, at some point it's going to come to an end.

Pray that your flight [from persecution and suffering] will not be in winter, or on a Sabbath [when Jewish laws prohibit travel]. For at that time there will be a great tribulation (pressure, distress, oppression), such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will [again]. And if those days [of tribulation] had not been cut short, no human life would be saved; but for the sake of the elect (God’s chosen ones) those days will be shortened.

I have heard that the great tribulation is for the Israelis and the millenium and Armageddon. And the church will be in heavenly places’. Any agree or disagree?

It all boils down to whether one thinks he is also part of Israel or not.

If he thinks he is true Israel, then he will naturally think he can also undergo that, and thus will not be in heavenly places.

The account of Jesus in his Olivet Discourse was largely for Israel. The judgment was for unbelieving Israelis. The warning of persecution by unbelievers in Israel and abroad was for believing Israelis. But the model of Israel's experience of "tribulation" was an example for the many nations in NT history who would go through similar things.

In passing the Kingdom of God from rebellious Israel to newly-converted Christian nations the same process began in which there was an initial commitment to God's covenant by the people of a nation. Then, over time, there was a cooling off, compromise, and ultimate apostasy, leading to Divine judgment.

Christians are simply given to know that this world is not our home--we are just "passing through." Our reward will be determined by how faithful to God's word we remain in this present life. It will test our resolve, but fidelity to God will be rewarded in eternity.
