  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No sooner does Hamas appear to have been defeated than the "Palestinian" Authority (PA) steps in as its successor, the same government that pays terrorists and tolerates schoolbooks that glorify the murder of Jews. This is a scenario that does little to enhance Israel's security, but rather repeats old mistakes.

For years, Israel and Western intelligence agencies have been documenting the so-called martyr pension system, better known as Pay for Slay: A program through which the PA regularly pays salaries to convicted terrorists and their families, graded according to the severity of their crimes.

An assassin who kills Jews receives a lifetime income that is often higher than the salary of a "Palestinian" teacher or police officer. This practice has never been discontinued, on the contrary: it is part of the official budget, enshrined in law, and defended in Ramallah as social responsibility.

If a government rewards murderers for their crimes, how credible can it be in managing peace?

Equally alarming is the state of the "Palestinian" education system, which is supervised and financed by the PA. Textbooks that have been repeatedly criticized by UNESCO and the EU still contain passages that wipe Israel off the map, fail to mention the Jewish state, and portray violence as a legitimate means of resistance. Children learn that martyrdom is an ideal, not education, not peace, but death as an honor.

Such a worldview will not disappear overnight when the same institutions now take over Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly made it clear that Israel will not accept a second Hamas in suits and ties. Experience shows that corruption, incitement, and double standards on the part of the PA have not prevented extremism, but rather fueled it.

The idea that the PA could stabilize Gaza after Hamas is tempting, especially for Western diplomats who are pushing for quick solutions.
But stability without responsibility is not a solution.

A government that rewards terror and teaches anti-Semitism cannot be a partner for peace. And anyone in Europe or Washington who believes that money, agreements, and fine words can build a new Gaza without changing the old mindset will very soon have to watch as schools are turned back into weapons depots.

As Israel and Hamas implement the first stage of the agreement brokered by Donald Trump, Jerusalem draws a clear red line: Five of the most notorious "Palestinian" terrorists, whose names have been circulating for years as symbols of the murderous resistance, will continue to be denied their freedom.

Marwan Barghouti is considered the most famous "Palestinian" prisoner. The former architect of the second intifada was sentenced in 2004 to five life sentences plus 40 years. He was involved in numerous attacks in which dozens of Israeli civilians were murdered. Despite his imprisonment, he enjoys cult status among parts of the "Palestinian" population and is regularly mentioned as a possible successor to Mahmoud Abbas.

Ahmad Sa'adat, secretary-general of the Marxist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), has been in Israeli custody since 2006. He is considered the mastermind behind the assassination of Israeli Tourism Minister Rehavam Zeevi, who was shot dead in Jerusalem in 2001. His organization is classified as a terrorist group by the EU, the US, and Israel.

Hassan Salameh, one of the highest-ranking Hamas commanders in the 1990s, was behind a series of suicide bombings on buses in Jerusalem and Ashkelon that killed 46 people. Two US citizens were also killed. He was captured in 1996 and sentenced to several life sentences.

Abbas al-Sayed, on the other hand, was the mastermind behind the Passover attack in Netanya in 2002, in which 30 Israeli civilians were murdered in a hotel during the Seder evening, one of the most horrific terrorist attacks of the second Intifada.

Ibrahim Hamed was the Hamas commander in the West Bank. He is serving 45 life sentences for murder during the second Intifada, the "Palestinian" war against Israel from September 2000 to February 2005.

The fact that Hamas continues to press for their release shows how symbolic they are for the organization. They embody the generation of terrorist leaders who define armed struggle as an eternal obligation and reject any political compromise.

In a speech to the Israeli nation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the implementation of Trump's peace plan for Gaza as ‘one of the greatest achievements of Israel's wars of liberation’.

After two years of war, the central goal, the return of all hostages, both living and dead, had been achieved. He made it clear that the goal goes beyond the return of the hostages: Gaza will be demilitarised – by hook or by crook. Netanyahu emphasised that Israel could only secure peace if the terrorist organisation Hamas was completely stripped of its military capabilities.

The Prime Minister referred to Israel's continued presence in strategic areas within the Gaza Strip as a guarantee of security. This presence is the assurance that Hamas will never again gain the strength to threaten Israel.

US is sending about 200 troops to Israel to help support and monitor the Gaza ceasefire deal

The coordination center will be staffed by about 200 U.S. service members who have expertise in transportation, planning, security, logistics and engineering, said the official, who noted that no American troops will be sent into Gaza.

Those who dream of martyrdom seem to fear for their lives. The US is to act as guarantor to convince Hamas of Israel's tactical retreat without the organization having to fear that Israel could immediately launch another military strike after the hostages are released. Hamas is already regaining control of areas from which Israel has withdrawn. It will regroup and rearm from the very first minute of the ceasefire. Israel reserves the right to respond immediately to any threat. Hamas, and it must be said cynically, can be relied upon. And because this is the case, there is no alternative: the terrorist organisation must be crushed once and for all.

The ceasefire deal should finally bring all hostages home. In return, however, Israel must also release 250 convicted terrorists. Among them are murderers, assassins and attack planners. The price Israel is paying for the return of the hostages is high. The release of emaciated and abused hostages in exchange for convicted criminals and murderers amounts to disgusting blackmail by Hamas. Of the 250 prisoners, 15 will be released to East Jerusalem, 100 to Judea and Samaria, and 135 who were convicted of murder or weapons offences will be released to Gaza or elsewhere, which will ultimately lead to a new breeding ground for hatred and violence by the terrorist organisation. Here are the criminal accounts of 10 terrorists who will be released from prison after the hostages are freed

Mahmoud Qawasmeh is a senior Hamas official who was released in 2011 as part of an exchange for the kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. He was deported to Gaza and later re-arrested by Israel.

Raad el-Sheikh is a "Palestinian" policeman who was involved in a lynching in Ramallah and killed Israeli soldier Vadim Nurzhitz with an iron pipe. He was sentenced to two life sentences.

Mohammed Dawud threw a Molotov cocktail at the Moses family's car in 1987. The pregnant mother, Ofra, and her five-year-old son, Tal, died. Father Avi Moses was seriously injured but saved his children Arad and Nir.

Iyad Abu al-Rub was commander of the Islamic Jihad terrorist group in the Jenin area (Judea and Samaria). Among other things, he was responsible for the suicide bombing at the Sdei Trumot market in June 2003, the attack at the Stage club in Tel Aviv in February 2004 and the attack at the market in Chadera in 2005.

In 1996, Ibrahim Alikam murdered Ita Zur and her twelve-year-old son Efraim in an ambush near Ramallah.

Bahij Badr headed a Hamas cell that carried out several bombings, including attacks on Café Hillel in Jerusalem, a bus stop and Har Zion Boulevard in Tel Aviv. He is serving 18 life sentences for the murder of 18 Israelis.

Nabil Abu Khdeir murdered his sister because she allegedly collaborated with the Israeli secret service Shin Bet. He was on the run for 17 years until he was arrested as a lecturer at Bethlehem University.

Firas Ghanem was responsible for the murder of eight Israelis and the injury of dozens more in 2002.

Ahmad Aradeh was the mastermind behind the 2004 attack on the Carmel Market in Tel Aviv, in which three people were killed. The attack was originally planned for the French Embassy in Tel Aviv.

Iyad Fatafteh was a member of the terrorist cell that murdered American tourist Christine Luken and seriously injured Israeli tour guide Kay Wilson in the Judean Mountains in December 2010. The same cell had previously murdered Neta Blatt-Shor, whose body was found in a monastery.

How did Trump pull off this diplomatic miracle?

How was he able to bring such fanatics, who worship death, to their knees and get practically all of their allies on his side?

Trump did not work out the details of the deal himself, but rather his son-in-law Jared Kushner, Orthodox Jew and architect of the Abraham Accords, which in 2020 led a number of Arab countries to normalise their relations with Israel and settle decades of hostility.

He persuaded the Gulf state to distance itself from Hamas in exchange for security guarantees. Other Islamic countries (including Turkey, Pakistan and Indonesia) followed suit.

Kushner set up a makeshift command centre with Steve Witkoff to negotiate the final details with all the intermediaries.

Like Trump, Kushner and Witkoff are real estate billionaires. And they have achieved what ordinary politicians and international institutions apparently cannot: putting together a real deal with a can-do mentality. As Trump writes in his book The Art of the Deal, personal relationships are often more important than offices, titles or commissions when it comes to doing business. His people act entirely in accordance with this motto.

"I think we’re just used to complex deals that are very dynamic, and with complex characters as well"

Kushner explained to the New York Times

"You have to be able to kind of get the bottom line out of them, and then see who do you think is playing games, and how much room do you have to push things? A lot of the people who do this are history professors, because they have a lot of experience, or diplomats. It’s just different being deal guys — just a different sport."

Kushner and Witkoff initially focused on the most important goal: the release of the Israeli hostages. Other sticking points would be resolved later. In short: rough agreement first, details later!

After a vague ‘OK, but...’ from Hamas, the delegations began negotiating the Trump deal under the strictest security conditions on the Red Sea in Egypt. Then Kushner and Witkoff arrived and helped bring the deal over the finish line.

Khalil al-Hayya leads the Hamas delegation in Sharm El-Sheikh as chief negotiator in the struggle over the Trump plan. He already served as chairman of the Hamas negotiating team for the Gaza Strip in Qatar. It is therefore not surprising that he is now appearing on the scene in Egypt as chief negotiator.

Al Hayya seems to have been fulfilling the role of mediator for several years, he left Gaza and settled in Doha to act as an interface between the Arab and Islamic worlds. He has long been said to have good connections to to Teheran. He had also accompanied Ismail Haniyeh there when he was killed by Israel.

Al-Hayya is committed to the ideology and goals of Hamas. In January, he still appeared irreconcilable. The high-ranking Hamas official delivered a vengeful tirade against Israel on camera. The backdrop showed destroyed houses in the Gaza Strip. However, Khalil al-Hayya himself recorded the video from his administrative headquarters in the Qatari capital of Doha, which he believed to be safe. Surrounded by the rest of Hamas' political leadership, he set the tone for the terrorist organisation's actions from there.

Extreme left-wing groups in the USA advocate the ‘armed liberation of "Palestine"’ and openly call for the end of the Jewish state.

No sooner had Donald Trump's brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hamas been announced than dozens of BDS-affiliated groups took to social media to declare that the ceasefire was ‘unsatisfactory’ and that the ‘fight against Zionist occupation’ must continue.

The Bronx Anti-War Coalition, an openly Marxist pro-Palestinian group in the United States, wrote:

"True peace will only be achieved when the zionist entity crumbles and ceases to exist."

x.com
In the same post, she praised the ‘courage of the Al-Qassam Brigades, Islamic Jihad and other resistance factions’ and declared that the liberation of Palestine could ‘only be achieved through armed resistance’.

These words are not a call for peace, they are a call for destruction.

The supposedly Jewish group Jewish Voice for Peace, which is considered radically anti-Semitic in Israel, also joined in with the rhetoric. In statements, it spoke of ‘resistance against the apartheid regime of Israel’ and criticised the agreement with Hamas for ‘not ending the occupation’.

However, what these groups refer to as ‘occupation’ encompasses, according to their own definition, the entire territory of Israel, from Tel Aviv to Haifa.

Their goal is not a two-state solution, but the abolition of Israel.

Such slogans are not mere expressions of opinion. They have an effect. They fuel the mood that is turning into violence against Jews worldwide: in attacks on synagogues, insults on university campuses, arson attacks and threats against Israeli institutions.

The fact that such calls are being made loudly in major Western cities, accompanied by "Palestinian" flags and the black flag of Islamic Jihad, shows how little many activists understand what they are really promoting: the call for the destruction of a Jewish state and its citizens.

Finkelstein has made a career out of denigrating Israel, praising Hamas' Oct 7 attack against Israel, talking about 'heroic resistance'... 'glory glory the souls of Gaza go marching on'.

He does not reveal the blunt truth. He cannot help himself because he wants to justify the radical views and feelings of his deceased mother. The fact that this has not earned him the attention of a good therapist, but rather the interest of the world press, is quite an achievement.

When it comes to the question of why the people of Gaza are so unhappy, Finkelstein’s answers are wrong in many respects.

Now, one may be of the opinion that Gaza is suffering martyrdom. Following the motto one man, one vote, one time, the terrorist organisation Hamas eliminated rival "Palestinian" organisations after the 2006 election, which gave it a majority in Gaza, established a de facto dictatorship and developed the Gaza Strip into a platform for attacks on the Israeli civilian population with Kassam rockets. The goal: the destruction of the Jewish state and the expulsion of the Jews. Hamas' attacks have provoked Israeli counterattacks, which also affect the civilian population because Hamas uses them as human shields.

But Finkelstein's marxist views states that Israel (!) had turned Gaza into an ‘open-air prison,’ that Hamas had ‘not fired rockets at Israel’ and ‘not built terror tunnels.’ However, supporting Hamas, which is not aligned with the working class and lacks a genuine socialist agenda, contradicts Marxist principles. Apart from that Christians know, that ‘isms’ (such as humanism, Marxism, feminism, etc.) are fundamentally political, social and philosophical ideas that have all their roots in HaSatan.

Also the Max Planck Institute in Halle (Germany) once had once already provided a platform for this Israel-hater.

How would you describe someone who calls the Jewish state a ‘predatory, racist, aggressive monster’ that ‘steals water, land and history’?

Well, depending on your political standpoint, you would call him a vicious demagogue or a brilliant polemicist, but not a scientist. Yet this man, Norman Finkelstein, was invited as an academic to lead a ‘workshop’ at the renowned research institute.

Even if the Gaza Strip really has the inferno that Finkelstein depicts, it still wouldn’t follow that such unpleasant external conditions necessarily inspire most men to think and behave as grotesquely as the "Palestinians" did on Oct 7th or, for that matter, to cheer it on as Finkelstein did, no less cruelly.

But not Zionism ? That the good ism?

The derivation essentially explains the term. The word is derived from Zion, which in the OT referred to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and later became synonymous with Jerusalem itself.

Christian Zionism is not a political ideology, but is based on G-d's promises to the people of Israel. The Jewish people's right of return to their homeland on biblical grounds can be found in G-d's covenant with Abraham. It refers to the longing of Jews living in the diaspora for their homeland and their desire to return to the Promised Land.

1760209485727.jpeg

Resolution 181, which was adopted by the UN in 1947, made it possible to establish a Jewish state and an Arab state. The Jews agreed and proclaimed their state, the Arabs refused, went to war against the young state of Israel and lost the war. So now there is the Jewish state of Israel and no Arab state

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Isa 66:8

The very first sentence of the Bible consists of 28 Hebrew letters. Let us take these 28 letters as the foundation from which we draw a triangle. This triangle with base 28 consists of 406 dots. Since the triangle of 28 (406) is a centred (181) triangle, we can form a Star of David with this triangle

1760209304753.jpeg

(CG = center of gravity; the numerical value of Israel,ישראל, is 541)

Could Moses have foreseen that somewhere in the future there would be a decision 181 that would make the founding of a Jewish state possible?

Or is this just a coincidence?

Or was it G-d's omnipotence that foresaw that UN Resolution 181 would lead to the establishment of the State of Israel?

Biblical maths underlines the credibility of the promise of land to Israel.

After the ceasefire began, Gaza reported renewed violence. Local militias and clans are engaged in fighting with Hamas. "Palestinian" sources report ‘complete security chaos’ in several cities: rival clans, former militiamen and local commanders are turning against Hamas, while Israeli forces are withdrawing from parts of Gaza as planned.

On Thursday night, fierce exchanges of fire broke out between Hamas units and members of local family associations in Beit Lahia and the Sabra district of Gaza City. In Beit Lahia, fighters affiliated with commander Ashraf al-Mansi clashed with Hamas forces. At the same time, fighting broke out in Sabra between the Dajmash family and Hamas terrorists, killing Muhammad Imad Aql, the son of a slain Hamas military leader.

According to information from "Palestinian" security circles, armed Hamas units then surrounded the al-Dhamsha family's residential neighbourhood in the south of Gaza City. Schools and homes were evacuated while masked gunmen and snipers secured the area. Residents report scenes of panic and chaos.

Hamas fears that influential clans, many of them old smuggling networks that took up arms during the war, could rise up against its rule. Last year, the organisation had the mukhtar (clan leader) of the Dajmash family executed because it suspected Israel might try to use him as a counterforce.

The fighting in Sabra and Beit Lahia is only the most visible sign of a deeper division.

While Hamas is still trying to maintain its monopoly on power by military means, new forces are forming in the south and north. One of the most vocal opponents is Hussam al-Astal, commander of a militia from Khan Yunis that openly opposes Hamas. On his Facebook page, al-Astal wrote:

“To all Hamas rats: Your tunnels are destroyed, your rights no longer exist. Turn back before it's too late – as of today, Hamas no longer exists.”

Such words would have been unthinkable a few months ago. Today, they show how much the once-feared terrorist organization is losing its authority.

Al-Astal accuses Hamas of misusing hospitals and mosques as bases in the fight against local groups. In an attempt to attack the al-Majaida family in Khan Yunis, Hamas fighters are said to have barricaded themselves in Nasser Hospital and a nearby mosque. From there, they allegedly fired RPGs and grenades at clan members.

According to al-Astal, the IDF then intervened, an Israeli air strike eliminated the Hamas command and killed at least 22 terrorists. A spokesman for the Israeli army confirmed the attack without giving details.

Hamas' response was not long in coming. On Telegram channels affiliated with the group, it announced that it would “demand accountability” from those who had cooperated with Israel. According to the Jerusalem Post, the names on Hamas' death lists include well-known figures: Yasser Abu Shabab, commander of the so-called “Popular Forces,” Hussam al-Astal himself, Rami Khalas, and Ashraf al-Mansi.

What is currently happening in Gaza is not an orderly transition, but rather a collapse from within. The clans that have lived in harmony with Hamas for decades now sense power and protection from external actors, be it Egypt, Qatar, or Israel. Hamas, on the other hand, is confronted with a scenario that it has been conjuring up for years: the return of violence, this time from within.

The Israeli government is closely monitoring events. On Friday, Netanyahu emphasized that the demilitarization of Gaza was non-negotiable

“the easy way or the hard way.”

What is happening in Gaza now could accelerate this demilitarization, but in the hardest way possible.

Hamas is still trying to show strength. But its structures have been attacked, its leadership fragmented, and its opponents are growing. In the streets of Beit Lahia and Sabra, the “Islamic Resistance Movement” has become an armed shadow of its former self.

The Jerusalem Post quotes an Israeli analyst as saying:

“Hamas is losing what it never had – genuine loyalty from the population. If the clans finally break away, its rule will be history.”

It is still unclear how far the uprising will spread and how stable the situation will remain. But the images coming out of Gaza, gunfire, burning houses, rival banners, suggest that the post-war chapter has begun. And it will not be peaceful.

The saying connects G-d's enduring promise to preserve the nation of Israel with the consistent, reliable cycle of the sun, drawing on biblical verses like Jeremiah 31:35-36 and Jeremiah 33:25-26. These passages state that G-d's covenant with Israel will only cease to be valid if the fundamental laws of creation, such as the sun rising and setting, were to fail. Therefore, the sun's continued shining is seen as evidence that the covenant and its promise of preservation remain in effect.

G-d's promise to the nations is that they can be grafted in to the spiritual olive tree of Israel through faith in Christ, sharing in the promises and blessings of the covenant. Two olive trees symbolize the two houses of Israel (Jews and Gentiles) to carry out His heavenly mission. Romans 11 holds powerful truths that relevant for us today as we witness Israel's two-stage restoration (both physical and spiritual), depicted by the symbol of two olive trees!
