  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Vlad, from God's Voice Daily finally deleted Joshua's video. The fact that Joshua shows zero remorse is one billllllion percent certain that he is false in all his teachings. Probably why his "church" shut down? I'm waiting for people who know Joshua to come forward and expose him.

False prophets all have the same characteristics. They love to tell a tale of their own vain imagination, thinking they are hearing from God, and they don't care what happens to other people when they tell their tale and the people react differently. These false prophets all have major blood on their hands. I've had dreams my whole life and only when it really stands out to me do I ever pay attention. We're called to use discernment. Not every dream is from God and not every dream deserves attention. I certainly wouldn't put myself out on a major platform to tell it all to the world!
Totally agree! I would say though that I stopped watching God's Voice Today/Daily because Vlad doesn't screen any of these people and he just gives them a platform to speak and say whatever they want. This in general hurts because he pushed a lot of other peoples dreams about Sept 23rd to corroborate with Joshua's prophecy and that just fueled the fire.

I agree with you that not all dreams/visions are from God as I have personal instances where some are from God and some have been proven to be false myself and one instance where it was clear to me that the intention was Satan trying to get me to go "warn" people about nukes dropping on New York but I disregarded the dream because there were problems biblically. Had I just gotten on youtube and opened my mouth, I'm sure I would have been in big trouble from God.

Not only should people have better discernment about what they are receiving but podcasters need to stop just giving a microphone to every single person that claims God said/God came to them in some way. I hope people wake up to this before it gets worse but I have a feeling this isn't going to stop and some new "Joshua" person will come out saying something else that people are just going to hype again.

Yeah, part of the problem is that there is no consequences. Back in the day you were killed, in the future when God stops prophets during his millenial reign, they're killed if they come out and prophesy. God is consistent in that.

But now, were supposed to sit and do nothing. They continue to spread MORE lies, people still follow them and they just encourage other people to crop up and do the same thing. ZERO fear of God, or any consequences. Not that God wont do something with them personally, but consequences on a human front is non existant.

This is why in the later times people just scoff at any such prophecy. People like this should be sued for defamation of the faith.
Well the rapture as we know it has only been a thing since 1830. I think the first headline false rapture, called "The Great Disappointment" in 1844, involved the Millerites who became the Seventh-day Adventists.

But I agree there should be some sort of comeuppance. Public humiliation alone doesn't seem to be doing the trick.

They have a seared conscience so their punishment won't be until judgment day. I tried emailing with one of the many false prophets on youtube and although she seems friendly enough, the amount of stupidity that she spews is beyond unbelievable. These date setters refuse all accountability, they refuse to apologize for the great damage they are causing to others, they do not believe they are wrong, even after having full proof that they are wrong. The complete definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Keep calling them out on their lies.

Tomorrow is failed prophecy number 2 with Joshua. I wonder what he's going to say on Wednesday when tomorrow passes.

Hopefully he'll stop and realize how ridiculous he sounds by now. Or, he'll listen to the crowd that's cheering him on and he sets a whole new date. They always do that, you know.

I recall the great disappointment was related to the Jehovah Witnesses also ..

I guess people were still into that kind of thing when the "War of the worlds" radio broadcast happened.

We had a JW round to our door, years ago, who told us that Jesus had returned in 1914.
My grandparents were only just born in 1914.

I haven't seen one in years.

The last time I remember, I took them around the bible making references to the trinity from every book but the gospel of John.

They sure do love to talk about the bible.

Because they're trying to get to heaven instead of be on paradise earth. They preach that only 144,000 go to heaven. So if they get you to be a JW, that's a notch in their belt into possibly being apart of the 144,000.
But yes, they also, quite a few times, tried to predict when the trib would start, which they call Armageddon.

Yeah, the 1800s crew was the beginning, it continued with Azusa Street, which spread to every thing else through the Charismatic movement.

Part of Azusa street movement split off into other movements such as the nation of islam, and a variation of the rapture idea is even taught in the new age movement.

We know by the fruit, is what Jesus said.

Ugh. False teaching. Read what Jesus said about all this date setting. Prayers for those deceived and those suffering the fall out. :praying:
It makes me wonder what happens to all of these churches when their pastors are so wrong? Do they fold? Do the pastors say they made a mistake and change the date, leading congregants to stay and prepare for the new date or what happens?

Maybe. After they clean up the devastation left by his followers. Seroiusly, it seems like an mental illness to me. Lord have mercy.
