  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is an adultist to you? Because:

"He who spares his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him promptly." Proverbs 13:24

And

"Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6

Which goes against the basic definition of "adultist".

Looks like it's an "age" related "ism."

OP you have to explain your thoughts.
If you mean beating your child or show control obedience stuff it is wrong. I was beaten badly and abused and worse by my parents. I know from first hand experience how damaging that is. Those who think that is okay have lost it.
It is the same thing as it say about wives to be obedient but next verse it say men love your wives and be kind and do not show bitterness roughly said. So that means, everything with love. Love does not beat.

I did not know what an adultism meant. Given the explanation offered, I'll observe that adultism is rampant in the church. An example might be churches that extend full membership to minors yet not full voice by not including their participation on church committees. Even young adults have trouble with that sometimes as some places seemingly require a certain amount of grey hair among decision influencers.

What’s an adultist?
Its like communist or socialist. An adultist. Or adultism lol. Any restriction or exploitation of people because of their youth, as opposed to their ability, comprehension, or capacity, may be said to be adultist.

I think the poster meant Adulterous person. Someone given over to adultery.

In saying that why is adultery called adultery. The Ai overview mentions

Adultery is called adultery because the word comes from the Late Latin verb adulterare, meaning "to alter" or "to corrupt," which is a combination of ad ("towards") and alter ("other"). The name reflects the act of "making other" or corrupting the exclusive nature of the marriage bond, essentially altering the marriage by bringing in an "other" person.

To alter or corrupt the marriage bond that God made between man and women. Its interesting that it mentions corrupting the exclusive nature of the marriage bond.

Like its in our nature or in nature that marriage is between one man and one women for life. Like a committment and bondage that can never be broken.

This as opposed to the unnatural redefining of marriage as like either s business contract that can be broken or not having any natural or God give nature but as a socially constructed definition that reflects social norms. Whatever they may be. But always a human determination which is usually based on individual happiness and fullfillment as the main priority.
