So, we are several pages in and still no one has given an answer as to what is the problem with racists and antisemites self segregating out of society and going to live in the middle of nowhere. I suspect those who are clutching their pearls don’t even know either.

The thought of me, (myself), having the thought that “everything would be so much better if I didn’t have to live near people of other ‘races’!” sort of irks me. It’s not in my ken.

Other people are allowed to think along those lines, and that’s fine, that’s what’s freedom is for!

Having such thoughts along with other like-minded individuals is still a part of the First Amendment, free-association. It’s a good and a fine thing.

But going to all the trouble of homesteading an area with the express purpose of cutting yourself off from the rest of the nation seems over-zealous and maybe a wee bit “kooky”?

I've long thought it would be a great idea for something like this as a Christian community.

The only groups that have succeeded are anabaptists because of their ethos. You can’t replicate that with christians because there’s too much diversity. Anabaptists have a culture with governance and mutual standards they’ve agreed to uphold. Christians don’t have the same. Add in their lengthy history of living in community and the skills they’ve developed by doing so. There’s a reason they’ve lasted so long and don’t have the issues we see in the church. They marry, have families, support one another and take care of their own.

I am also not seeing a downside for those not caught up in this. People with bad ideas self segregate into an insular community, said community dissolves into inevitable infighting/legal woes/sex scandals and everyone gets to point and laugh. The only downside that’s any concern for me is that of the dependents of the community members participating less than voluntarily and the abuse they will suffer or their struggle to escape if they want out. As for the rest of them lol sucks to suck.
