We know this president has slept around quite a bit, cheated on all his wives, bragged about grabbing women, walked in on changing contestants in a beauty pageant, slept with porno stars but no one even suggests he’s a prostitute for it.

Agreed. There's already a segment of the American populace who wouldn't have voted for her simply for being a woman or being of an ethnic minority. Adding a homosexual man as running mate would have compounded the problem.

I wouldn't have assumed that was why he picked her, but for the fact that he talked openly on the campaign trail about committing to choosing a minority woman. If he had planned to choose her for those reasons, he absolutely should not have openly announced that he was looking for those qualities in a running mate ahead of time. It looks even more of a DEI selection than it already may have been to an extent.
