Not being a jerk is, in fact, something that should be normalized.

Everything about LGBT is, at its root, sexual. "Deviant" means differing from a norm or from the accepted standards of a society. Heterosexuality is the norm. Therefore, LGBT is by definition, sexual deviance, and all the books encourage the normalization and acceptance of it.

Again, if you're looking at gay people or hearing about gay people or thinking about gay people and the first place your mind wanders is to what their bedroom habits are, that's your sexualization, not theirs. That's 100% in your control, not theirs. Most of us are perfectly capable of seeing people, even seeing people as a couple, and not wandering into an internal monologue about what they do or don't do in the bedroom. For all you know, my husband and I engage in sexual deviancy that would make a drag queen blush and whatever you imagine they do seem like a Hallmark movie. You don't know.

If you don't want to know about what they're doing, stop thinking about it.
