  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I agree. There’s plenty of real stuff from “MAGA Republicans” to criticize, like Brian Kilmeade suggesting that homeless people be euthanized, which is a million times worse than what Kimmel said, but barely registered a blip with the Magadonians.
Yeah, but at least nobody has to listen to Jimmy Kimmel anymore.

The murder of Charlie Kirk has dealt a substantial blow the the liberal leftist woke machine, by those who are a part of that machine. Massive self-sabotage.

The Magadonians were in charge of Kimmel's show? No, it was his own people who gave him the boot. Jimmy Kimmel is huge, so he creates a huge impact with sponsors. I probably along with most people barely know who Brian Kilmede is. And he said something spontaneous without forethought. Kimmel thought though everything he said. It was planned out in advance. The fact that he wasn't able to realize it would go over so badly, makes him a liability to the network.

Yeah you guys are really getting a lot of mileage out of that tragedy.

I know National Review rather harshly criticized Kilmeade, but I suppose that while they're staunchly conservative, they aren't "Magadonians".

Still, while Kilmeade's remarks were worse, Kilmeade also quickly apologized for the remark, and I'll give someone more lenience when speaking off the cuff as he was. Kimmel's remarks, while obviously not as bad, were not apologized for (as far as I am aware, someone can correct me) and came during a presumably rehearsed speech.

Note that NBC is saying the assassin is a supporter of the political left.
Yeah, that's usually how censorship works. You make one person an example and the rest fall in line.

It's usually hoped that some good will come out of a tragedy after one takes place.
Well as long as it brings you some happiness it was all worth it.

So we're all okay with cancel culture now?

Yes, absolutely when it involves people being murdered and others celebrating it etc. I support Kilmead being canceled for calling for murdering homeless people.

This kind of garbage deserves to be canceled.

What doesn't deserve to be canceled is political opinions or moral stances that do not encourage or celebrate murder, terrorism or political violence. I've got no issues with businesses or platforms censoring that kind of garbage. If I eople want to that they can go to Blue Sky and hope their employer doesn't care.

I absolutely draw a line at fomenting violence and celebrating assissantions of people who are sharing opinions.

I seen the video. Jimmy Kimmel just told the truth. And he got fired for nothing.
They were probably just using it as an excuse to dump the show. Which probably like Colbert's show wasn't making enough money. It's been around since 2003 which is 22 years, so time to pull the plug. It's literally older than the assassin.
So we're all okay with cancel culture now?
TV shows get canceled all the time. Especially really old ones that have worn out their welcome.

It's got nothing to do with censorship. Mainstream NBC news is telling the truth about Tyler Robinson being a supporter of the political left.

It does. I'm smiling ear to ear over Kimmel going down in flames. And I can't want to see who's next. Burn woke burn, muhahaha.

Honestly, I don't watch them; most are just names to me; and I don't care if they stay on the air nor not. What's piqued my interest is the affiliate revolt behind it.

Hopefully only conservative commentators will be allowed to voice their opinions to lead to purity of thought in public discourse.
Liberal commentators will be allowed to voice their opinions and continue to bury their party.

I don't watch any of them either. I used to watch Kimmel, but that was about 20 years ago.

I’m sure Kimmel will be just fine. I’m more concerned about the chilling effect this is meant to have on other opposing views, as we see with NBC conforming to the administration’s narrative that Charlie Kirk’s killer was inspired by the left when you have the killer himself citing Kirk as the source of his anger.
