They used to say that about black people, too. Can you guess the connection?
Sure! The political party that was opposed to the abolishment of slavery.
Of what party is the president who threw a temper tantrum because he thought the Smithsonian was making slavery look bad? It's the same party for which the KKK celebrated their win with a parade. That party? The party of Lincoln is now the party of Senator Tom Cotton who declared;
“We have to study the history of slavery and its role and impact on the development of our country because otherwise we can’t understand our country. As the founding fathers said, it was the necessary evil upon which the union was built."
The republican who actually said:
“I have a very, very radical view on this, but I can defend it, and I’ve thought about it,” the story quoted Kirk as saying. “We made a huge mistake when we passed the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.”
Yep. Republican, admittedly an extreme and often hateful one.
Assailing affirmative action “picks” Joy Reid, Michelle Obama, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Kirk said, sickeningly, “you do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken seriously” without affirmative action. “You had to steal a white person’s slot.”
All of these women have much greater intellectual credentials than Kirk. His envy of and anger against women of color who far surpassed him is appalling.
Does that mean in 160 years, parties can change positions?
Yep.
When white supremacists engage in mass shootings, it is based on "who they are" as white supremacists or the partner of such people. Only white supremacists do it a lot more often. Just saying.
Haven't been seeing those.
I'd be fine with that too. And I'd be fine with white supremacists being what they are, so long as they don't bother anyone else. So we seem to be on the same page in that respect. Those who do attack others should be punished just like any other criminal. Those who don't should just be left alone.
Yeah, it's annoying to see those guys riding round with confederate or Nazi flags, and so on. But they have the right.
You're comparing Nazis to transsexuals?
I'm guessing only a minority of Nazis and white supremacists are transsexual. But they all have the right to be what they want to be, so long as they respect the rights of others.
