  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Have you understood this?

After explaining to His disciples the parables of the Kingdom of Heaven, Jesus asked them; Have you understood all this? Matthew 13:51 and they answered – Yes.

It was a simple sounding question, but actually He was asking the most profound question of the ages.. Jesus was asking if they knew that, in Gods eyes there are two and only two – classes of people in the world: Those that accept God and His Laws: wheat, buried treasure, pearls and good fish - and the children of Satan: tares, weeds and worthless fish.

Matthew 13:37-42... He replied: The sower of the good seed is the Son of Man.
The field is the world, the good seed stands for the children of the Kingdom and the weeds, the children of the evil one.
The enemy who sowed the weeds is the devil The harvest is the end of time and the reapers are angels.
As the weeds are gathered up and burnt at the end of the age, the Son of Man will rid His Kingdom of every cause of sin and all whose deeds are evil. These will be thrown into the blazing furnace, where there will be much wailing and sorrow.

Matthew 13:43 Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father If you have ears, then hear.

Just a speculation – but Jesus gave four parables about who will and who will not inherit the Kingdom;

1/ The wheat and the weeds – Messianic Jews and apostate Jews, the House of Judah.

2/ The buried treasure – The born again Christians who are also the House of Israel.

3/ A pearl of great value – A person who dedicates their life to the Lord.

4/ The good and the worthless fish – All peoples, believers and unbelievers.

Luke 6:20 Blessed are you who are in need; the Kingdom of God is yours.

Good day,

I think the most confounding thing in the whole passage is not so much the Parables and DA Carson does a great job breaking them down.

You can Google him they are very well done like every thing DA Carson does.

There are indeed 2 types of people :

Mat 13:10 Then the disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”
Mat 13:11 And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.
Mat 13:12 For to the one who has, more will be given, and he will have an abundance, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

The blessed ones who have been given the knowledge of the kingdom 13:16 and more is to be given to them v12

The the others who have not been given knowledge, the parables serve the purpose of confusing them taking away what they think they have. v12

I think the wheat and the weeds (tares) parable is saying the same thing as the parable of the good and bad (worthless) fish. It says the wheat are "the children of the kingdom" and the weeds are "the children of the evil one", which is the devil. All believers are children of the kingdom and all unbelievers are children of the devil (1 John 3:8-10), so it's contrasting believers and unbelievers there.

Jesus dividing all people into two groups lines up with what He said here...

Matthew 12:30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.

In His view, all people are either with Him or against Him. Wheat or weeds. Good fish or bad fish. Sheep or goats. Righteous or wicked. Just or unjust. Saved or lost.

Only two types of people.
This truth, - unfortunately for those who wishfully think God will rapture them to heaven before any tribulation; wrecks their fond belief.
They must have a third group, namely; the Jewish Israelis.

Nothing in the Prophetic Word says their conversion will happen, many times we are told that only a Jewish remnant will survive. Isaiah 6:13, Romans 9:27, +

I believe that all of Israel will be saved, even enemies of the Gospel. They are all God's children, after all. Deut. 14:1, Psalm 82:6, Matt. 23:9

As to potential forthcoming events, yes, I do believe there will be a mass liberation, not only of the Jews, but of all mankind, spoken of not only in Rev. but in the parables such as Matt. 25's separation of sheep and goats. That is a forthcoming enmasse event.

Romans 11:26

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

Shall turn is on the horizon, as obviously it has not happened yet.

Habakkuk 2:14

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

Rev. 5:
13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

God in Christ will be obvious to us all:

1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

The classic: Now and Then, Then being the basis of our HOPE, thoughts and dreams

P.S. IF you think you are a better sinner than your neighbors, think again: Romans 3:9

As I say; that is the belief of the 'rapture me up' deceived people. Not what the Bible says at all.

How can the mixed race peoples in the Jewish State of Israel, who just claim the name of Israel, without proof, be the true Israelites of God?
Understand- that Israel is far more than the House of Judah, anyway.

The 'sheep and goats' separation, is not a conversion event.

The timing of Pauls Prophecy in 1 Corinthians 15:50-56, is for after the Millennium.
Proved by how it will be then that Death is no more. Revelation 21:4 Only in the new heavens and earth.

The timing of Pauls Prophecy in 1 Corinthians 15:50-56, is for after the Millennium.
Paul makes no mention of a millennium in 1 Cor.

What Paul does say is that there is natural man, planted in weakness, corruption and dishonor first. And lastly, there will be the Spiritual. And that the transformation will be basically, in an instant, a "moment."
Proved by how it will be then that Death is no more. Revelation 21:4 Only in the new heavens and earth.
None of which eliminates a massive shift. A separation of all people from weakness, corruption dishonor and a natural body

I'm not saying I buy into the various rapture theories. From my sights it will be when the adversary is separated from within all people, Satan made subservient to people, not the way it is now, Satan being put basically under our own feet. Romans 16:20, Rev. 3:9

There is no indication in 1 Cor. 15 that anyone is relieved of their weakness, corruption, dishonor or their natural bodies. It's all put off one time, at the finale.

Not much of a Millennium with those conditions intact

In any case sins are not counted against people so the GWTJ probably isn't going to change that

This requires some research on what the terms "bind" and "loose" mean. In Jesus's day, "bind" and "loose" or "binding" and "loosing" were terms used by Jewish rabbis to mean prohibiting or permitting certain actions or interpretations of the law. In Matthew 16:19 Jesus was not just talking to Peter but to the other disciples who were there as well. So, Jesus was telling Peter and the other disciples there that He was giving them authority over the church. Paul wrote that the church was built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Jesus as its cornerstone (Ephesians 2:19-22). So, the authority in the church originally started with Jesus Himself who went on to ascend and reign at the right hand of the Father and then was given to the apostles as well through the power of the Holy Spirit to establish and lead the early church and to establish its principles on earth as dictated by Jesus and God the Father from heaven through the Holy Spirit.

We know that Jesus was not just talking about Peter having that authority He referenced in Matthew 16:19 because He later said this to all of the disciples...

Matthew 18:18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

This gives further insight into what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 16:19 because He said the same thing in Matthew 18:18. It's talking about having the authority to do on earth what God the Father in heaven enables them to do through the Spirit of Christ dwelling in them.

I'd suggest a sore mis read in the above analysis that actually misses the point altogether.

HOW so? All parables contain 3 parties "according to Jesus."

God/man and devils.

Where is the devil in your accounting? Strangely missing, as usual.

You see only people. Jesus saw people and the adversary, openly revealed them "in mankind" and sometimes directed them, sometimes just revealed them, sometimes rebuked them and sometimes cast them out of the person.

None of this activity is ever reflected in your analysis which leads me to conclude....the reality of Mark 4:15 for you (and everyone else for that matter)

And I meant Matt 16:18 -19 that it was Peter. that. was given that authority. and not the other 11 disciples .

And if you had read Isaiah 6:1-12 is the sitting. aside OF ISRAEL and is the same as in. Acts 28:25-28. !!
'
And in Acts 28 : 27 is a copy of Isa 6:9-10. This is why Israel was set aside for over 2000 years AGO. !!

And that also means the OLD COVENANT. , and WATER BAPTISM , and TONGUES were set aside !!

But Tongues will make return in the GREAT TRIBULATON in Mark 16:15-18. !!

And the BODY of Christ reigns and salvation by Rom 10: 9 and with out Water Baptism or Tongues !

Have you understood this. ??

You are mistaken about that. You have to take other scripture into account. I showed you Matthew 18:18 where Jesus said the same thing He said in Matthew 16:19 and He applied it to all of the disciples. Also, you need to consider Ephesians 2:19-22 where it talks about the church having the foundation of all the apostles and prophets and not just Peter. With Jesus Christ as the cornerstone. You need to take all of scripture into consideration whenever trying to interpret any given verse or passage.
