  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Can you provide links to any of those supposed sayings by Charlie Kirk, or are we supposed to take the propaganda of the far left as gospel truth?
Actually, it's the propaganda, but from the far-right:

"If I see a Black pilot, I’m going to be like, boy, I hope he’s qualified."
The Charlie Kirk Show, 23 January 2024

This one is worse than presented above...

"If we would have said that Joy Reid and Michelle Obama and Sheila Jackson Lee and Ketanji Brown Jackson were affirmative action picks, we would have been called racists. Now they’re coming out and they’re saying it for us … You do not have the brain processing power to otherwise be taken really seriously. You had to go steal a white person’s slot to go be taken somewhat seriously."
The Charlie Kirk Show, 13 July 2023

Turning Point USA CEO and co-founder Charlie Kirk once said, "I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that — it does a lot of damage."
"The Charlie Kirk Show" on Oct. 12, 2022

Kirk called MLK "awful."

Kirk said passing civil rights bill was a mistake:

He also lashed out at the gay community, denouncing what he called the “LGBTQ agenda,” expressing opposition to same-sex marriage and suggesting that the Bible verse Leviticus 20:13, which endorses the execution of homosexuals, serves as “God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters.”

So he wanted to kill them. Ironic, isn't it?

On May 20, Charlie Kirk addressed the Oxford Union, using his “debate me” style to speak directly on issues such as abortion, the “toxic social contagion” of the trans movement and the “cancer” of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion).

BTW, I agree with him that it's legal to burn a rainbow flag. It's legal to burn the American flag, the Bible, the Koran. Why not rainbow flags? Unless it's done to incite violence all of that should be legal.

I pray that God forgives Kirk. He didn't deserve to be murdered by some deranged Goyper because he wasn't far right enough.

Sorry, I wasn’t specific enough. Do you have links to actual podcasts or videos where he said these things instead of far left “fact checkers”.

I prefer to hear and decide for myself what he was saying and what the actual context was.

Though I can tell you that many airlines announced that they were using DEI initiatives to hire for all positions, and they did hire people right off the street who had no training in flying planes and had to train them, and they started flying jumbo jets with NO experience, when previously pilots were required to have hundreds of hours of experience before they were considered. While what Charlie Kirk said was stereotyping, the fact that the airlines made that decision is hugely concerning.

So we're left with "they are all lying, all of them?" If you want to go to the cited podcasts, you can. But you and I both know what you'll find.

You can tell us that. Substantiating it with checkable links is quite another issue. Show us what you have.

Do you honestly think that they let people fly "jumbo jets" with "NO experience?"

Seriously?

I’ve seen too many clips taken out of context and spun unmercifully to put any faith in anything I can’t hear for myself. Remember that age-old adage - don’t believe anything you hear/read and only half of what you see.

Yes. And I know because I know people who are pilots for the airlines and read the communiques. Don’t really care that you don’t believe it. Truth is truth no matter who believes it.

Evidence shows truth. Do you understand how implausible it is, to claim that airlines let people fly "Jumbo jets" with "No experience?"
And now you can't show any evidence for it.

Ironically, he was hated by people even more extremely right-wing than he was. And now it appears that one of them killed him.

More untruth....
Nick Fuentes, a far-right American and white supremacist, has now broken silence and has responded to the allegations, denying any direct connection while defending his followers. Journalist and former MSNBC anchor David Shuster on Friday claimed that Robinson reportedly admired Fuentes.

After Charlie Kirk shooting, Tyler Robinson’s alt-right links to Nick Fuentes spark outrage, activist breaks silence

The statement drew significant attention on the internet not only because of its tone but also since Fuentes has long been one of Kirk’s fiercest critics. Their feud dates back to the 2019 “Groyper Wars,” when Fuentes’ supporters disrupted Turning Point USA events, accusing Kirk of being too moderate on immigration and LGBTQ rights.

Kirk, who maintained close ties to Donald Trump, was often labeled by Fuentes’ followers as a “gatekeeper” of establishment conservatism, according to Newsweek.

In the days since Kirk’s death, the revival of that rivalry has fueled speculation online about motives, though investigators stress that the suspect, Tyler Robinson, acted alone and no wider conspiracy has been identified.

Denials aside, Groyper slogans were engraved on the shell casings used by the shooter. It looks as though the movement is turning on itself. Other than his well-documented dislike of Kirk, there is presently no evidence to show that Fuentes was personally involved in the killing. In fact, he seems concerned that his followers might again become violent, warning them to stand down.

So far off track. Do you actually believe this stuff, or simply wanting others to believe it? Or both?
They are currently talking to his transgender partner to get more information.

They received training and that was the sum total of their experience. Luckily there are always more than one pilot in all aircraft, sometimes 3 or 4, and most planes can fly and land themselves now. I can’t show you evidence because the communiques are not mine to show. So feel free to disregard everything I’ve said.

So far off track.
Robinson had Groyper slogans engraved on the cartridges he used to shoot Kirk. No way to dodge that. Fuentes detested Kirk for not being extreme enough. Evidence matters.

Do you actually believe this stuff
Just evidence. You don't get to choose your reality. You can argue what it means, but you aren't entitled to your own reality.
They are currently talking to his transgender partner to get more information
Apparently the roommate is cooperating with authorities. The more one hears about Robinson, the more disturbed he seems to be. Loves guns, doesn't vote, infused with far right meme culture, hated Kirk.

So feel free to disregard everything I’ve said.
I can see that your really, really want your belief to be true. But absent evidence...

I see the denial. But when you're pushing a narrative that is unsupported by evidence, that tends to be more persuasive.
