First, yes there is that one which I don't put any stock in having any kind of meaningful info from. That would be this picture:

2017 Trump was obviously incredibly topical and a Halloween costume of him isn't very niche, especially for a 14 year old.

2nd, the picture you probably meant to quote about is actually correct, it's this one:

No date on this one, but that's the Pepe the Frog meme, which I had mentioned earlier. Now, it really depends on what year this was, because it's either a very niche meme that was only being done in the Groyper community, or it could be from when it already crossed into the general mainstream internet which means it's an incredibly benign picture. It's possible it's not even referencing this meme at all, but I'm struggling to see which one it would be and I'm open to ideas.


I'll stress again, none of this is definitive, but the info might be worth considering in totality.

Evidently the authorities got some Discord transcripts, and messages from the day before the shooting are indicating that he said that "Kirk is full of hate and spreading hate", and from the way they made it sound, it almost sounds like there was someone else that knew it was about to happen.

The messages from “Tyler” stated a “need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point, leaving the rifle in a bush, messages related to visually watching the area where a rifle was left and a message referring to having left the rifle wrapped in a towel,” the affidavit shows.

But Discord is disputing the information that the officials were pushing out Friday, claiming its investigation showed while Robinson had a Discord account, there’s “no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence on Discord,” according to reports.

“The messages referenced in recent reporting about planning details do not appear to be Discord messages,” the company said. “These were communications between the suspect’s roommate and a friend after the shooting, where the roommate was recounting the contents of a note the suspect had left elsewhere.

“We have removed the suspect’s account for violating our off-platform behavior policy.”

So who knows whether or not the authorities were just confused about which messaging platform the roommate allowed them to see and take pictures of on the screen, or if Discord's move to swiftly nuke the account was a bit of a CYA move.

I can't get over the fact that he's only 22; hardly out of adolescence - a time when kids try and find out who they are, what they think and what life means. For his generation it must be such a confusing world, with political hatred on both sides, social media with all sorts of ideas and disinformation abounding. He's not a middle-aged man with years experience of life. It's tragic. I hope he doesn't get the death penalty. The world we live in is partly to blame. His dad was with the sheriff’s office for 27 years. The most suck for him if his son turns out to be the killer.

'The troubled young kid' is how I viewed him and why I don't want him to be executed. It would be easier on his Dad too, although it might not be right to take that into account when sentencing him. I agree. The death penalty are for the most violent criminals who cannot be rehabilitated back into society. But it will take years to undo all the damage.
