In addition there's a lot of crude stuff posted about this assassination to various social media. It seems some on the left find it hilarious. Basically the left continuing to make being on the left less appealing. Even more so if the shooter turns out to be a left-winger.

No one should advocate violence and if they do they should be fired. But we should be realistic about where the vast amount of hatred and violent rhetoric is coming from. Many leaders need to change course and denounce violence.

I mean, the comments are poorly timed, but I’m not seeing what the scandal is. He said specifically he wasn’t condoning what happened, but we are in an era where people are getting shot over their politics with an alarming frequency, and when people say things they believe that are provocative, we are unfortunately in an era where it’s leading to outcomes like this. He didn’t say it was good or he was happy about it. He was bemoaning it. He was making a statement about where we are as a country, that’s all.

People have said the same or similar here, with more divisiveness and without the underscoring of it being a tragedy.

He said it at an inappropriate time, but he isn’t saying that you yourself haven’t said.

This is what Charley was about. He helped young people to realize they were not alone in their thoughts. He taught them, and gave them the courage to speak their mind. Not to be intimidated into silence in our schools. Freedom of speech, and debate were encouraged, and what he did. This is what higher education had always been, he brought that back. That was Charley....The silencers will not silence him or what he started. Charlty did not "hate", he encouraged disgreement in debate. Using words, and ideas, not violence. May he rest in the Lord, and the Lord bring comfort to his wife and to his children in the coming days, months and years knowing who he really was.
