• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You said you called them Neanderthals for a reason.

I just thought you'd might like to know what that reason was.

They're called Neanderthals because they were found in Neandertal, the Neander Valley in Germany. That's why they have that name. Your comment was just pointless gibbering.

Now either make a comment about the OP topic or just be off with you.

Now either make a comment about the OP topic or just be off with you.

The OP states:

The Latin (and Levantine) brain visualises the conclusion before it has collected all the premisses: it is therefore too intelligent to be archaeologically minded.
The Teutonic brain, on the contrary, is content to inspect all its hurdles before jumping them. It is willing to collect evidence even though it never draws any conclusions.

In my days, they were called "left brains" and "right brains".

Right-brains were artistic thinkers; whereas left brains were unimaginative doers.

(Or vice versa, I can't recall at this point.)

And the source in the OP attributes those qualities to races; a Teutonic race and a Latin race, as per the writings of the American classical art historian (WOW. How did I not find how scuffed that is for a source?!) Rhys Carpenter.

Which is the whole basis of any pushback on OP's point; that they're trying to make this a racial thing.

Did you read anything else in this thread apart from the comments on the previous page?

No, I sure didn't.

All I know about this race thing is that someone claims men are from Mars, and women are from Venus.

Makes about as much sense as any, I guess.

If one can believe we're stardust, I suppose one can believe we're Martians.

What's the difference between that and panspermia?

If scientists can believe in panspermia, why can't others believe we're hybrids of Martians and Venusians?

Don't you guys even talk to plants?

You've got no idea what is being talked about on this thread, so why don't you just go away?

The Latin brain is too intelligent to be archaeologists, and the Teutonic brain is too archaeologist to be intelligent.

Did I get that right?

Oh, well.

I tried.

We're Latinos or Teutons ... Martians or Venusians ... animals or humans ... stardust or dust of the ground ... take your pick, I guess.

In my time, things were said to be either "animal, vegetable, or mineral."

Music store?

Supermarket.

But still, this is just getting ludicrous now. You obviously have no intentional desire not intelligent way to address the OP topic (garbage as it is) so it's better that you just leave, because you're REALLY starting to get annoying.

When a brain is told the truth, it need not make any conclusions.

Neanderthals were [what you would call today] Homo sapiens.
I'm inclined to agree with you. :anguished: But it's not certain by any means. They are genetically different enough to ordinarily be classified as a close but separate species. But the fact that they could and did interbreed with anatomically modern humans at least leaves the door open for their classification as a race of H. sapiens, like us. H. sapiens sapiens/ H. sapiens neanderthalis.

I just thought you'd might like to know what that reason was.
Climate and evolution. Early Neanderthals looked more like us than later ones, who were adapted to the much colder climate of the last ice age. It's worth noting that arctic populations of anatomically modern also humans tend to be also shorter and more compact but not to the extent of Neanderthals.
