I think you're using nationalities as a wedge to split archaeology up into two different camps:

One camp using deductive reasoning, and the other camp using inductive reasoning.

Latin refers to anyone of Roman descent and/or anyone who speaks a Romance language, while Latino specifically refers to anyone in Latin America.

That was actually a distinction I didn't know about since in Europe, or the UK at least, Latino is only ever used to refer to people from Latin America. We mainly just call the various groups as they are: Spanish, Portuguese, Italians, and Romanians.

So that's me learning something new.
