Which Way Do You Lean Politically?

There are bricks (everybody equal) and there are stones (everybody unequal.) There is no middle ground or center, but there are lots of confused people. You only end up with bricks by force.

Today, we see the left as the brick people and the right as the stone people. I am a stone person.

From my observations online of various opinions...
I don't think the "bricks" are as "everybody equal" as some think.
I don't think the "stones" are as "everybody unequal" as some think.
From what I've noticed the "bricks" lean more socialism and the "stones" lean more capitalism.

I’m a mixed bag. So I can’t really call myself center. I really vote by issues. Not party.

I realized maybe a year or two ago that it's not just one party that is corrupt, but both of them.

So I believe other elections are rigged too. Why vote if your vote doesn't count?

Both parties are corrupt for sure! One is just more corrupt than the other.
I see the Left leaning as a cancer to America and the Right leaning as a precancer to America.
I think there have been some elections that have been rigged, but they'll never admit it.

All growing babies in the womb deserve protection.

True gender dysphoria is a very low percentage. All the other stuff we've been seeing can fall under a fad, trying to be noticed, a mental illness as some suggest, an anti the way God made us feeling, etc. I don't' trust the statistics the Left leaning put out about it all.

Both of these things are tools of the devil. The devil is anti God of course and going after growing babies in the womb and making people think they arent' the gender/sex they are born and will die is his doing.

Sanctity of life.

Freedom of religion.

Economic justice and healthcare.

Parental rights, etc.

I do not like following party narratives so I vote by issues. Midterms is really the only time you can do that thoroughly. During the presidential election I usually go American Solidarity Party. Honestly though, I feel it sort of throwing your vote away. You can do the best you can with the rest of the ballet but I’m pretty fed up with the monopoly in U.S. politics these days and the effect it’s having on many citizens. Many are completely hypocritical when it comes to criticizing each other while ignoring the very things they are criticizing that happen in their favored party. The broad brushing of whole groups of people based on the way they voted is beyond ridiculous. The nicknames given, the self hatred of one’s own country and citizens is a bad witness. I feel very blessed to have been born in America. I could go on but won’t.

I post about topics in political news but it certainly is not my everything where it starts becoming pathological. Anyway, you asked. Sorry for the rant. Time to enjoy my day.

would guess in most cases where a parent/spouse is trying to starve an abuse victim to death/give them bad food, that is would be hard for the person to even get access to something like the card you suggest. They may be so watched it would be almost impossible. Plus if they would get out to shop, getting items into where they live would be tricky if this is happening to them. There may be such tight restrictions overall.

Not every abuse victim and case is how this post suggests it to be.

There are more cases like this. At one point I was watching a video about a similar “shed living” case where the kid snapped and killed the rest of his family.

As for me, I always had access to my bike, so I could have got the card if I wanted it, it would have just been a long ride. Frankly my mom would have always gave me my mail. What was keeping me there was not being unable to escape, but having no money and no safe place to live once I did. I was a very ill-informed 18-year-old, I was supposed to finish college and get a job, and I had no idea what welfare options were available to me or how to best use them to help with my situation. Restrictions at home were chaotic and changed from day to day, and my mom wouldn’t enforce half of them, but the yelling, screaming, insults, attempted property theft and damage, and physical assaults were real. I still have the paperwork from the eviction case he tried to file against me. The food was terrible until they finally moved away and I started shopping for myself. They cut off my support to try and starve me out, the EBT stopped that.

Or my friend whose mom got him fired from his job, told him to commit suicide multiple times, and left him on the street to be followed around by a gang for years. She lied to him about paying his car payments, leaving him to dodge car repossessions until the statute of limitations expired. The gang is gone, but he still has heavy trauma symptoms from all of that. EBT card helps there too.

Don’t make assumptions. Abuse comes in different shapes and forms.

Even though we don't admit it, I think more than not know the weaknesses in their own party.
Yes, most of us tend to complain about the other party, I think in part because we're not "loyal" to it, so we can have a more objective views than with uor own party.
What I've noticed is that broad brushing usually applies to more than not in the party, but definitely not all, so I don't have a problem with it really.
I think wording can affect how complaints come across. None of us are perfect in it.
Even in here, I've been accused of being "maga" when I'm not. I could never willingly support the Left leaning on 98% of the stuff they are for. The Right leaning I support point by point, but disagree on a good portion. Neither side is the answer.
Politics is a nasty game all around. It has it's place and affects all of us, so I don't think we can ever fully ignore it or not be touched by it.
In my observations it's mainly the Left leaning that hate America. They have been working hard to chip away at it for a long time. Sadly they've made some good headway that Lord willing will be reversed. Sometimes I think they need to move to the country's that fit their tastes instead of trying to change America into a country of their own making. But most of them won't.....so the fight continues.

The problem is that we allow rigged elections by not being watchful or involved. Which is mostly due to people resigned to the fact of rigged elections and thus becoming apolitical. We need more election judges and poll watchers, not the usual party hacks who are looking to game the system, but the ones who will insure integrity at each step. We don't have that now.

And what is that specifically?

Me. What's considered left, right, and center depends on the country and the era. The late Jerry Pournelle would comment that he was once considered a liberal, then became considered a conservative, then David Frum apparently had a beef against him for opposing the Iraq invasion. Att least I think that's what it was. Could be wrong. The point being that Pournelle didn't change, but what was considered left, right, and center did.

What I think is what I think, regardless of political winds. As to whether that's left, right, or center, wait a while. By the end of my life, I'll probably the classified as being all three.

It's not left/right. It's also libertarian/authoritarian. So a 2-dimensional matrix at least.

That's how I see it as well. In which case I might be categorized as center-libertarian. However, I am not a Libertarian in the Libertarian Party sense. I oppose authoritarianism but I support things like universal education, universal healthcare, national defense, and equal protections under the law. If it reeks of tyranny, I oppose it. What I like to see politically is empowered autonomy for the individual and a government that is principled, transparent, and defers to the will of the people.

The closer a politician is to being moral, honest, and a servant leader the better. Although I'm well aware that politicians tend to be corrupt, the candidate that best embodies these traits gets my vote.

You asked another this.
In the last election I couldn't bring myself to vote for Harris or Trump.
So I voted for another on the ballot.
Some might think it was a "wasted vote", but I don't.
I feel I can honestly say I didn't feel comfortable with either, sure one in my mind was a "better" option than the other.
But I still had to vote my conscience which wasn't either of the top 2.
So technically there were more choices on the ballot to choose from, but most are drawn to the top 2 for a variety of reasons.

Oh I know. they were on my ballot.
I know some think it's a wasted vote if you vote anything other than D or R.
I don't see it that way any longer, especially as a Christian.
I prayed and thought about it beforehand, then voted.
I'm of the mindset that God will allow who He sees fit to be President for His own reasons.
I may or may not agree, but I can cast my vote into the hat and then trust God with the results.
