  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am reaching out to ask for your prayers as I try to rebuild my life after a very difficult year. I have faced the pain of broken relationships, financial hardship, and even a time of homelessness.

At the moment, I have no income, though I do receive food stamps, and I am grateful to have stable housing through a subsidized apartment. I am waiting to hear back about SSI benefits I reapplied for, but I am uncertain whether I should focus on that or try to reenter the workforce, which is difficult in my small town without a car.

I am also in a committed relationship that means a great deal to me. Although we have been through many trials and challenges, I have never met someone who understands me and loves me the way he does. I feel very strongly about building a life with him, even though the road has not been easy.

Since going through all of this, I have often felt lost, confused, and at times hopeless about the future, as if the obstacles before me are insurmountable. Yet, I am doing my best to remain faithful and to follow God’s will.

Please pray for me—for strength, healing, mental health, and clarity. Please also pray that the resources I need may become available, whether through a person to guide me, a loan, or some other form of help, so that I can begin rebuilding my life with hope.

Thank you for your prayers. You will be in mine as well.

Praying for God’s provision for you and His peace and discernment along the way. :praying:

BTW, nice to see you again!

Thank you Michie! I was away for a while because my computer stopped working a couple of months ago and then randomly started working again yesterday. I have no idea what caused the problem, but I'm grateful it's working again. It is too difficult to use Christian Forums on a smartphone for me, so when my computer started to work again, I decided I wanted to check in with everyone and ask for prayers!

Thank you everyone for your prayers. I greatly appreciate them! I am still feeling depressed, but I feel better today than yesterday because I did get to see my boyfriend. He shares my Catholic faith.

He took me to Urgent Care today too because I have a severe Upper Respiratory Infection going on. They gave me a steroid shot and an antibiotic to prevent it from becoming a secondary infection because I almost always get a secondary infection after dealing with a viral Upper Respiratory Infection. Plus, I do have Type 2 Diabetes and that weakens my immune system somewhat, even though it's under control.

Thank you for your prayers, everyone! Unfortunately, I have experienced a setback. I had given my mom my utility check, electric bill, and ID because she handles all of my bills for me. Well, unfortunately, she lost all three items. I told my landlord because my electric bill is already past due, and she told me to contact the township's trustee so that's what I did. Unfortunately, they weren't open, but I did leave a message, so hopefully I will hear back from them soon. I'm afraid they might not be able to help me without my ID. My apartment complex will reissue me a new check if the old one hasn't been cashed, but if someone somehow cashed it, I won't be able to get that money back. It'll take a few weeks to get the new check if they can reissue it. I am so worried that my electricity will get shut off. If it gets shut off, I will be evicted and will be homeless again. PLEASE pray for me!

Prayers God puts a hedge of protection around you and helps you find the security you need in your life. :praying:

Lord have mercy! May St. Rita and St. Jude intercede for you!

Thank you so much to both of you. Thankfully, my Mom was able to find my utility check, electric bill, and ID yesterday, so now my electric bill will get paid even though it is already somewhat overdue. Thankfully, I have not yet received a shut-off notice from the electric company.

However, today I am experiencing a lot of moodiness. I'm in perimenopause and the moodiness has already begun, but it doesn't help that I deal with mental health issues anyway.

Another issue that is bothering me is that I can't go to the store or church when I want to because my knee, which has a torn meniscus in it, has been flaring up more lately and so it is very difficult for me to walk to church and back. The only store within walking distance is a convenience store, and it is about a block from here. I can handle that, but my parish is about 4 blocks from here, and that's too far. Sadly, my family and friends are often unable to help me, even though they live in the same town as me.

Maybe someone at Church could swing by and pick you up for Mass?

My friend who is not Christian pick me up and takes me to Mass on Sundays and then picks me up and takes me back home when it is done. The thing is, I want to be able to go to Mass on Thursdays because we have a daily Mass then. I would also like to be able to attend the First Friday Mass we have, but unfortunately, my friend is not usually able to help me with that. My family is often unable to help me with that too. I think I might ask at church and see if one of the parishioners could help me out, though.

Continued prayers!

Thank you very much, I appreciate it!

Anyway, I think I had a better day today because I was able to see my boyfriend, but I did have a big disappointment. I was supposed to be able to see my son today and take him to a children's Mass and event at our park, but unfortunately that did not work out. I did get to talk to him on the phone though, so that made my day better.

Yeah ask someone at Church and I bet you can get some assistance. How is your son doing? Last I spoke to you he has a pretty gnarly ear infection. Praying for you and your intentions! :praying:
