Reducing crime is never a bad thing, but that is not what this is. This is an ego that saw some homeless folks on the way to golfing and became disgusted. Poor baby. He was the king who didn't want to see the reality of his kingdom. Instead of curing the lame and feeding the poor, he kicks out people who have nothing. What we need at this moment is some brute power, right? Wonderful story.

Recently though the city finally cracked down on that and it's not nearly as bad as it was. But I suppose I should be appalled by that eh? Outraged over the brutality that must have gone into making the streets safer and cleaner. As a good Christian I should attend city counsel meetings and demand they put things back the way they were, right? Well what about programs, and facilities, and shelters, and services to help them? There's scores of that here. But they don't want to go though the process because it involves getting off drugs and assuming a certain level of cooperation and responsibility.

Poor working class people like me are the ones who are the most subjected to unsafe unsanitary conditions around town. There's no king here. No despot who's authoritarian brute force made my city safer and cleaner. The only actual complaint is that in DC it happens to be Trump who's spearheading a similar clean up. It's just the usual if Trump does it, then it's the act of barbaric cruelty enacted by a tyrannical despot, and carried out by his gestapo. I really wish some folks would get a grip.

What do republicans do? The GOP is all for the rich and poor folk ensure they stay rich. Conservatives have lost their way. They have exchanged dignity for servility. This opinion ( which you are entitled to) is devoid of actual facts as to the reason for the actions you decry. Allowing unlawful camping in public parks is not a government program to help the poor. There are food banks , shelters and churches to deal with these problems. Allowing homeless encampments in public spaces is not a reasonable solution, and supporting such unlawful encampments does nothing to help the people you are concerned about.
