  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The very first post accuses Hamas of starving Gaza. Not Israel. Israel is refusing to release the food, but it's the fault of Hamas. Any mention of the people who are actually starving? Of course not. This wasn't a call for more aid. This was a political post supporting Israel and denigrating Hamas.

Oh, no! We must never denigrate a terrorist group.

The starving people are mentioned several times in the article. Some are even mentioned by name. Don’t be disingenuous.

By the way, Israel has denied deliberately starving civilians, but I’m guessing you don’t believe them since you’ve already seem to have made up your mind that they are the true villains of this story.

So any compassion shown? Anyone sad about the deaths? Anyone think that the killing has to stop? That aid should be released? Nah, fat chance.

Yeah, me. But I’m guessing I’m going to get your usual “bulldust!” Reply, since you’ve already made up your mind I’m the heartless one.

You just gotta be kidding me. It's only 19 posts long, but it's a microcosm of the thought processes that some people have. Check it out over the next few days. It'll be more of the same. It turns my stomach.

85,000 dead children: Yemen’s crisis far worse than Gaza — yet overlooked by the world

Alright, Mr. Compassion, could you explain why no mass outrage over this? Why no mass protest in the streets all over America and in American campuses? Could it be because this doesn’t fit with the oppressed vs oppressor, or in the case of Gaza and Israel, the indigenous vs colonizer paradigm that is so popular on the left.

The deafening silence on this crisis compared to what’s happening in Gaza by the compassionate left makes me question if all this pearl clutching over Gaza is really about the innocent civilians suffering.

Well, that's not the worst argument that you could come up with. But I can't actually think of another at the moment. Not that I'm exactly sure what it is you are arguing. Is it:

1. 'I haven't seen you mention Yemen/Uyghurs/Central African Republic etc therefore your outrage re the Gaza genocide is invalid.'

Or...

2. 'Other people aren't worried about the Yemen/Uyghurs/Central African Republic etc so I don't have to worry about the shocking number of women and children blown to pieces in Gaza either'.

As you can see, both of them are pretty risible.

But I want to talk about it. I want to know what the issue is and what the solution is.
There are people saying 'No blacks allowed' and you don't know what the issue is?

Two poor attempts at mind reading while avoiding answering the question. It’s a simple question. If this mass outrage is really about compassion for those many suffering innocents civilians in Gaza, why no mass outrage about this even worse humanitarian crisis happening in Yemen?

Hey about this community:

Arkansas AG: no laws broken by whites-only settlement—for now

SHARP COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Arkansas Attorney General’s office is reviewing the controversial whites-only community Return to the Land but has not found any current violations of state or federal law, officials said.

Now, how to give them the whole state and let them back out of the union?

Yep! The same thing here with Sanger and planned parenthood. A eugenist....
From wiki
"Margaret Sanger (née Higgins; September 14, 1879 – September 6, 1966) was an American birth control activist, sex educator, writer, and nurse. She opened the first birth control clinic in the United States, founded Planned Parenthood, and was instrumental in the development of the first birth control pill. Sanger is regarded as a founder and leader of the birth control movement.
She founded several organizations dedicated to family planning, including Planned Parenthood and International Planned Parenthood Federation.

Sanger was a first-wave feminist and believed that women should be able to decide if and when to have children, leading her to campaign for the legalization of contraceptives. As an adherent of the eugenics movement, she argued that birth control would reduce the number of unfit people and improve the overall health of the human race"

Hamas wants jew's dead and gone, but Israel's defense is called genocide. Palestinian is not a race, it is a land that Arabs began to live on at some point in time. Rome called it by the name of an ancient enemy of Israel, after they expelled them from the land. It was named after an ancient enemy, the PHILISTINES. That race is long gone..

We don't need abortion, nor do we need genocide. But it's all the same phenomenon in these discussions. a lack of seriousness of Empathy, or sympathy.

In the thread, that is in no way related to either topic.

They could add Jeff E. to the convo as a distraction from the white separatists and then other stuff to distract from Jeff E...

Why not? It relates to questions of empathy and sympathy.
It's about a colony of white separatists and their goals to replicate. If that's what they want we could find them a nice island with a volcano.

Irrelevant and controversial topics never improve a discussion but hey, in for a penny in for a pound, how about slavery, reparations, and gay adoption? Get it all in here!

I thought they had Idaho.

Whatever happened to the Citadel?

Maybe better to ignore such disruptions than encourage?
