I read Peter Navarro's book on trade and i think you will find more there than all the conjured stuff on war etc. His trade advisor recognizes how unfair the current system has been for the usa. So the plan was to push back. To an extent i agree but i think it is extreme and will likely cause harm. Trump is just too inconsiderate and uses too many sticks and few carrots. But back to your question, the trade deficits need more balance. Navarro solved this. Trade always has been used to punish enemies and support allies. Trump does infuse a little of this but the main focus from Navarro is to make it more of a fair sytem.
In my own opinion a trade war with China should increase the chance of a taiwan or philippines conflict. Why? Because they have less to lose. If you look at trade flows China, and their friends such as russia are trading more together and less with us and our allies. This is more likely to cause an alignment against the usa. Trump though is only in office 3.5 years. The economy is still likely to suffer or the tariff policy will be struck down in the courts. trump lost already in the usa court for intl trade and that case is on appeal. Trump exceeds his powers. Congress has the responsibiltt to raise taxes including tariffs. Emergency and contingencues that trump uses are far too vast.

The news stories that I saw over the past couple of months do give me hope that the majority of the bureaucrats in China are turning against Xi and I am hopeful that Xi will feel forced to change his ways.

Canada is currently engaged in bilateral discussions with China to improve and strengthen their trade relationship. Mexico, located south of the United States, is working with China to export products that are typically sent to the U.S., now aiming to send them to China as well. In Brazil, officials are seeking to enhance ties with China. The European Union is also negotiating new agreements with China to expand their trade relations. At first I had no idea what the long term goals were for the Trump Tariffs.

Later on here in Canada I noticed that the Liberal Party of Canada fired P. M. Justin Trudeau and seemed to get much tougher on crime especially crime related to the USA border.

No. Everyday items take up a much larger percentage of a low income household’s finances than it does for very high earners. Tariffs are disproportionately going to affect the lower income brackets.

I hadn't quite thought the whole thing through quite that far yet but I do believe that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his team seemed to be attempting to sell forty one million Canadians to BigPharma companies as a supposedly free of charge group of people to do a medical experiment on back in 2020 and 2021!

For the record I refused to take the experimental C o v i d 1 9 vaccine because Rabbi Alon Anava warmed his listeners against it and I was forced to retire one day before I would have been put on Unpaid Administrative Leave anyway.
