Ice to get rid of transnational gangs like in the op,FBI to arrest those in criminal enterprise like prostitution and retail theft to finance the illegal markets in her district and ATF to arrest all involve in the illegal trade of guns that gangs need to conduct their business. She obviously can’t do it or is unwilling to do it.What would be an appropriate federal response to the crime level of one specific congressional district?
That’s quite the bigot statement to make. I’m Hispanic, I’m not a criminal.Statistically, some at least are likely to be if there are so many criminals in her district,
Since her district is such a mess and since she in unwilling to do anything about it then that tells you what she will do on the nationwide theater. She can’t take care of her district then she can’t take care of anything else.but it's her policies you are concerned with and wondered if you were worried that her criminal constituents had influenced her policies and that's why you didn't like them, why you think the high crime rate in her district was evidence of it.
What specifically should the congress woman be doing ?Since her district is such a mess and since she in unwilling to do anything about it then that tells you what she will do on the nationwide theater. She can’t take care of her district then she can’t take care of anything else.
Maybe contacting her district commander, complaining to the mayor, holding town halls and acting on them, etc. etc. etc. so far she has done nothing so you are defending an idiot. What specifically should the congress woman be doing ?
Thus far I have said not one word defending the congress woman. I have asked two rather bland questions of what you would think is an appropriate response.Maybe contacting her district commander, complaining to the mayor, holding town halls and acting on them, etc. etc. etc. so far she has done nothing so you are defending an idiot.
And I’ve answered with bland responses. You asked me what a federal response should be and I answered. Anything else? Thus far I have said not one word defending the congress woman. I have asked two rather bland questions of what you would think is an appropriate response.
No, it's just a statistical likelihood. That’s quite the bigot statement to make. I’m Hispanic, I’m not a criminal.

How so? Here are the statistics. No, it's just a statistical likelihood.
I was naïve to think you would post something responsive to the query made to you. I'll not make that error again.Nah. I don’t fall for that.
I know you are not that naive.
I have.Have you not seen the national publicity that a fight for some cause or another can bring a congressman or congress woman?
In Congress. She has the responsibility as their representative to question and demand better outcomes for her district,
In CongressShe owes it to the people that she represents.
In CongressInstead she is in some oligarchy tour with Sanders while her district falls apart. All about her future aspirations.
No, because I know the difference between state/local/federal government and between legislative and executive branches. Members of Congress do not "run" their districts. It is easier to think about with Senators. Mitch McConnell doesn't "run" Kentucky, Adam Schiff doesn't "run" California, Ron Johnson does not "run" Wisconsin. The *governors* of those states do. (All in my list are Democrats.) The state legislatures set the budget and the laws. Local governments (counties, cities, towns, viillages, etc.) operate the police forces, schools, etc.If she was a far right representative you would be all over this. Ah, the hypocrisy.
As I stated before, if this was a right wing politician you would be all over their failure in their districts. Let me give you a little education about the responsibilities of a member of the House of Representatives, They are elected to represent their constituents in congress but there is a bit more than that. Members have the responsibility of representation, legislation, oversight, management, politics, collaboration, and leadership. The first one IS representation. In order for them to represent their constituents they have to understand what their constituents need which is something that AOC is clueless about. Here is a primer that might enlighten you. I can’t copy and paste but look at page 6 Under representation In particular under understand constituency demographics, trends and needs and provide services to constituents.I was naïve to think you would post something responsive to the query made to you. I'll not make that error again.
I have.
In Congress.

This has nothing to do with partisanship and everything to do with HOW GOVERNMENT ACTUALLY WORKS, not some fantasy "gotcha" version pushed by some TV network.
So I was right. That some of the criminals in AOC's district are Hispanic was a statistical possibilityHow so? Here are the statistics.
Arrests, by Race and Ethnicity, 2019
- In 2019, 69.4 percent of all individuals arrested were White, 26.6 percent were Black or African American, and 4.0 percent were of other races.

- Of all juveniles (persons under the age of 18) arrested in 2019, 62.5 percent were White, 33.9 percent were Black or African American, and 3.6 percent were of other races.
- Of juvenile arrestees for whom ethnicity was reported, 23.6 percent were Hispanic or Latino.
- Of all adults arrested in 2019, 69.9 percent were White, 26.1 percent were Black or African American, and 4.0 percent were of other races.
- Of adult arrestees for whom ethnicity was reported, 18.8 percent were Hispanic or Latino.
- White individuals were arrested more often for violent crimes than individuals of any other race and accounted for 59.1 percent of those arrests.

This is the latest data. Hispanics account for 19.1% while 69% were white and 26.6% were black. So 1 in 5 Hispanics have committed a crime.
.I never said it did. Only that it was possible that some of the criminals might be Hispanic. How is that statistically significant to explain AOC’s crime in her district?
Of course not. But it seemed that you were saying that you disliked AOC's policies because she was elected by criminals who teemed in her district, white, black brown or whatever. Most constituents in her district ARE NOT criminals.
That was never my argument. Her district has seen a dramatic increase in crime since she was elected their representative and she has done nothing about it. The article that I posted earlier had the numbers and several comments by people in her district that does not paint her in a good light. If she can’t take care of her district how can she take care of any nationwide issues.Of course not. But it seemed that you were saying that you disliked AOC's policies because she was elected by criminals who teemed in her district, white, black brown or whatever.
“Major crime rose by an eye-popping 70% in Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Bronx and Queens district since the ‘defund the police’ socialist lawmaker took office in 2019 — more than double the citywide increase of 30% over that same span, a Post analysis of NYPD data shows.
Wasn't she part of the defund the police craziness? Or is she just part of the far left soft on crime failed policies? Or maybe she is part of the open borders progressive cause that allows transnational gangs to infiltrate her district? Was the police force or funding reduced in her district as a result of the Congress woman's actions?

You don't know me. I don't know you. Despite it saying that you've been on this site for almost 20 years, I've only seen your canine face in the last moth or so. Given that, don't characterize me or make assumptions about me. This sub-thread is ended. As I stated before, if this was a right wing politician you would be all over their failure in their districts.
I guess you don’t like to be educated or enlightened. I made no characterizations or assumptions about you. Be blessed. You don't know me. I don't know you.
