There is plenty of abuse and cover ups on the Baptist Church, other Protestant Churches, JW’s, Mormons, public schools, etc. a lot of those people aren’t gay either.
True. I hear it even happened in some Orthodox monasteries. There was one that was linked to the late Fr. seraphim Rose, who was a former gay man

(A member of the community. I don’t recall his name. NOT saying Fr. Rose was an abuser or was aware of it).

Some don’t like using the term “gay” because it implies they are actively living the gay lifestyle or it’s too politicized.
"Same sex Attraction" does sound a bit better than the "gay" stereotype.

I’m sure if homosexuals weren’t ordained to the priesthood, 99.9% of the abuse problems would go away. Just an educated guess.
80% anyhow. Some priests do like young ladies. But it would clear up a lot of problems.

True. I'm sure there are an abidance of straight priests. Since most men are indeed heterosexual, like majority of the population.

Pope Leo XIV recently addressed a large group of seminarians in Rome for a special Jubilee week, thanking them for their willingness to devote their lives to the Church. If the number of major seminarians worldwide has fallen 12% over the past twelve years, one reason is due to the increase in the number of homosexual bishops, priests, and seminarians in the Americas and Europe which has had a negative impact on the retention and recruitment of heterosexual priests and seminarians.

After graduating as the valedictorian of his high school class, Anthony Gorgia from Staten Island, New York, was offered a full scholarship with a stipend to a prestigious university. Having felt called by Christ to be a priest since he was six-years old, Gorgia turned down the scholarship to pursue his vocation to the priesthood. After graduating summa cum laude from St. John’s University with a master’s degree in philosophy, Georgia was sent by New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan to study theology in Rome at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Even though he maintained a 4.0 grade point average and received outstanding evaluations, Cardinal Dolan informed Gorgia, half-way through his second year of theology, that he was being discontinued based on the advice of the North American College (NAC) rector, Father Peter Harman. Dolan refused five requests to meet with Gorgia and his parents because he knew Gorgia’s dismissal was unjust.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me question my faith, and be suspicious of my priests.

The horrific revelations of the infiltration of profound, satanic evil into the Church - such as these - can be overwhelming. Such evil should not be in the Holy Place! But Jesus warned us of very hard times to come, especially in the End Times. He said,
For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.
And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. (Mt 24:21-22)

Persons seeking Truth and Holiness in the midst of all the corruption found in the world at large, are repulsed by uncoverings of evil in the Holy Place! But that repulsion is only a "fringe benefit" for the evil one - a secondary weakening of the influence and power of the Body of Christ in the world. The Lord saw this coming, and thus He assured us that yes, the trials will be very intense, but not for too long. He will shorten those troubled days, and will soon come to gather "all the wheat" into His "barn", His Kingdom to come. Mt 24 can console and strengthen His called and chosen ones, in the tribulation that may well be very near. Things will be so horrible, but only for a short time: Be strong. Greater is He who is with His own, than he who is in the worldly.

The Church will not fail. The enemy will be found within the visible body, but not in the heart and soul of the Holy Body of Christ. His Body, His Bride, will remain in Him, and He in them, as He promised.

That’s an entirely natural reaction. Yup, it is. But how do we manage to have a supernatural reaction to it. Truth is strong and will endure. Beauty stands amid the ugliness. And goodness is present even when evil abounds. We need to speak truth to power, but to do that we need first to persevere. Crooked priests and bishops and cardinals and popes are failures in all but temporal power. They build nothing true or good or beautiful in the end. So keep the faith, in particular to spite them.

I think the stories by this author are for the most part real. And he reveals some ugly stuff. I would love to ignore it. But he’s on to it and a whole bunch of powerful folks in the Church look like they are neck deep into the filth.

That whole End Times talk really freaks me out. Sorry.

But why the Catholic Church? Like somebody said (Michie?) it’s in other churches but it seems like Catholic churches have more gays than average and more abusers.

I don’t recall saying that. The Protestant churches even public schools are overrun with abusers and while married. Kinda shoots the whole celibacy thing down. The RCC is in no way the more prevalent sexual abuser. It just gets more airtime.

Good to know, but do you think the RCC has more SSA clergy?

We don’t quite have a monopoly on abusive clergy. The Southern Baptists learned that. But we do have a near monopoly on gay clergy and consequently gay clergy abusers. We didn’t really get things all the way sorted from back in the day of Peter Damian. It’s crazy bad now because instead of weeding these people out, following the established rules for seminaries, folks like ex-cardinal McCarrick were buggering seminarians and growing the problem. Those folks are in their prime in power in dioceses now.
