We get it. It's uncomfortable to hear somebody with your same political ethos would assassinate people. Nobody is saying it's all far right people, but they're saying it's this far right person. No need to get offended or snarky about it.

I mean, we don't typically see moderates draw up voluminous manifestos about targeting abortion clinics, doctors, and only Democrat lawmakers while speaking about Biblical principles and ethics and whom friends identified as a religious, pro-Trump, arch conservative... So... I think thinking he's targeting Democrats, those who are part of Democrat causes, attends Trump rallies, speaks about conservative ideals, and is known to be conservative by friends and family, but really he's a liberal or moderate may be just a tad too far into the realm of cognitive dissonance for most people.

So... I think thinking he's targeting Democrats, those who are part of Democrat causes, attends Trump rallies, speaks about conservative ideals, and is known to be conservative by friends and family, but really he's a liberal or moderate may be just a tad too far into the realm of cognitive dissonance for most people.

In a search of Boelter's wife's car, law enforcement recovered two handguns, approximately $10,000 in cash and passports for Boelter's wife and her children, the affidavit said.

I heard that, but then I read a follow-up that said they'd found more and, again, while not traditional manifesto, it was rife with details that explained his motivation and beliefs and how said people ran counter to his particular beliefs. So, outline format, not novel format, but definitely manifesto-ish. Nobody walking away going "now I wonder what side of the issue this guy comes down on?"

Boelter was politically motivated and killed people opposed to his beliefs. He is anti-abortion, anti-LGBTQ, and has promoted Christian nationalism. These beliefs and actions are just some of the things that define him as being a far right Christian extremist.

Seems like the Nile is a river running directly through CF today.

What I find interesting is I skimmed through some of the threads on here when Trump was shot. A lot of people yelling at the Democrat/left members of the forum saying "the left is evil and did this!" and a lot of people replying back "well yeah, dude was probably on the left and hated Trump enough to want him dead, but he's a fringe outlier not representative of the whole, thank goodness." Then smatterings of condolences and well wishes with varying degrees of sincerity, but a lot of statements about how a free society doesn't shoot at elected officials simply because they don't like them.

Then here, on this one, dude is pretty apparently ridiculously far right, and the response has again been a mixture of "the left is evil and did this!" followed by "there's no proof he's a Trump supporter/far right/Christian/Republican/Conservative" and just total abject denial and refusal to believe the guy is what he's put out there for years that he is. And really, not many (if any) statements from the same crowd about what happened being awful and terrible and an attack on decent people and democracy as a whole.

So... That's a fun little nugget to reflect on.
