Because the initial reaction from the left when any shooting happens is to find a way to politicize it so they can somehow blame it on MAGA or the "far right." When it doesn't fit that narrative, it quietly goes away. They are looking for their next boogeymen to keep the riots sparked up all summer long.

In this case we already know that the "cop car" was indeed a fake cop car. They have released that information. Presumably his "uniform" was also fake, and the security footage still of him in the "uniform" might be useful if you knew all of the M-St. P area LE agencies and their uniform styles. Given that MN officials clearly state that the shooter is not a copy, I think we can be certain that he isn't.
