I've mostly ignored some of his comments, he exaggerates and sometimes lies, and I don't approve of everything he does.
There's supposed to be a ruling about his use of the National Guard without the request of the Governor tomorrow and they'll likely go home.

Look, let me explain something to you. Whether there is a problem in business, sport, politics, law enforcement...any problem that you have, the first thing to do is to solve the immediate problem. What is actually happening and how do you best deal with it. In this case, it was down to the L.A. police and, if necessary, the governor to deal with it. In the way that they thought was most applicable.

The second thing to do, and this is possibly the most important, is to find out what caused the problem in the first instance.

The third action that should be taken to is prevent the same situation happening again.

They had a handle on the first. If necessary, they could have called in extra help in the form of the National Guard to help. Seeing that in the grand scheme of things, this was just a protest that some people used as an excuse to cause more problems, they had it covered. If this had been a local incident about a robbery or a gang fight that got out of control, you would never have heard about it. The mayor, the governor, the chief of police and the D.A., all who would know exactly what was going down, have confirmed this.

The second? Well, we know what it was. It was Trump overriding the authority of the governor and federalising the NG. He is not empowered, in these situations, to do that. It was Trump saying that there was a danger that the city of Los Angeles was in danger. A nonsensical, and dangerous, lie. And it was Trump actually ordering that Marines should be sent in as well. Could there have been more of a monstrously stupid move?

It now all seems relatively quiet in that tiny area of L.A. So they've solved the first problem. And we know what caused it. So that's the second problem solved. Now you're left with the third. How do you stop it? Well, you can't. You voted for this guy so expect to see more of all the same. Look at what Miller said:

So hey, forget about the bad dudes. Just go for your casual workers. Just round up anyone you think might be illegal. Let's keep those numbers up! So that's what's going to happen. And Trump will do the same thing. And things will escalate again. And lucky you, you'll have a couple of pictures of a burning car and maybe someone throwing a rock so you'll feel justified in your righteous anger against these people. Who are likely, yet again, being deported without due process.

Leticia Rhi Buckley, who lives and works just under a mile from the Los Angeles Federal Building, told CNN that the Trump administration's narrative that Los Angeles is under siege is false. She said the vast majority of what she's witnessed has been peaceful.

"I live less than a mile from here. I drive home and about five blocks down, there's nothing. It's like nothing is happening," she said. "Living in downtown for 15 years, it's gotten louder when the Dodgers won the World Series, or when the Lakers won."

LA is a big place. I think we all know that the entire city is not engulfed in a city wide insurrection and lawlessness. Its only in a small area of the city. And there were times that the lawlessness was out of control in that area to the point that LE was overwhelmed. The chief went on to "reconsider" that they needed the NG.

ICE was spotted in our town and protesters came together in less than 30 minutes to block the interstate offramp to the area they were going to. It was pretty wild, lol.

A curfew that applied to one square mile of downtown L.A. And by taking this step, the major was demontrating local authorties can and do take steps to restore order.

This may shock you, but unmarked cars filled with masked people with no identification breaking down their doors, pulling them off the street, snagging them as they're in court...? That violates their rights as well as potentially the rights of those who are around them. They are ICE, not gestapo.
