I learn things in unexpected places. Monday I was taking my daughters to watch "King of Kings" at our local cinema. On the way we stopped in Bojangles chicken for some lunch and there were a few Lutheran ladies also partaking of the chicken. One of them started telling me about the VBS theme this summer and it was then I learned that the local LCMS church is just recently vacant. Pr. Andrew has moved. The lady was expressing some discontent with some of the supply pastors that they've had coming. I could do DS3 (or 2 or 4). . . but the LCMS circuit visitor would probably burst an aneurysm.

What is DS3?

Never had Bojangles! I heard it's good.

Divine Service setting 3. The Lutheran Service Book of LCMS has 5. 3 is closest to the "Common Service" adopted in the 1890s.
Were you originally LCMS, then became a continuing Anglican? If it’s ok to ask? I’m not sure how certain Protestants share ministers for word and sacrament.

Yes. I'll tell you more about that privately.

For the Canadians, I've got a conference in New York next month and noticed it's only a 3 hour run to Ottawa. What exciting things are in the capital?

We finally made it to Ontario last week. My daughters were thrilled to visit another country. That's Lola bottom left at the War Memorial which I guess basically serves as a town square. They like the poutine as well.

With few exceptions, we use DS 3; I'm good with that!
