CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) — The Trump administration is bringing a small number of white South Africans to the United States as refugees next week in what it says is the start of a larger relocation effort for a minority group who are being persecuted by their Black-led government because of their race.​

The South Africans’ applications are being fast-tracked by the U.S. after President Donald Trump announced the relocation program in February.​

The Trump administration has taken an anti-migrant stance, suspending refugee programs and halting arrivals from other parts of the world, including Iraq, Afghanistan and most countries in sub-Saharan Africa.​

Refugee groups have questioned why some white South Africans are being prioritized.​

Keep in mind those Afghanistans were the very Afghanistans helping US troops during that war and promised safe haven from the sure fire retaliation they and their family would be on the receiving end by the Taliban. The same Taliban Trump had released from prison.

It's patently obvious the fruit does not fall too far from the tree given the man whose Father was arrested at a Klan rally. Whose apartment buildings were actively discriminating against blacks. Who had his project manager hide Black contractors working at his buildings when associates came by and by past statements, is in fact a racist.

It has become quite unbearable for rich White South Africans since the middle 1990s. Just seeing Blacks shopping in former White only stores, parking in former White only parking spaces, and moving into the former White only neighborhoods, forget about it. Don't get me started about the swimming pools.
Even the great Republican President Reagan waited years after other countries enacted the trade embargo because Reagan knew about Blacks from being Governor of California and tried to make it illegal for that demographic to possess firearms. White people are the most oppressed people in the world following White Christians.

I’ve saved a couple of videos on the subject and plan to watch them today. I’ve wondered when someone would address this here. While I don‘t know all the details my gut says something smells. And I’m going to play devil’s advocate for a moment and admit biases are wrong if that’s the case while watching the christian response as things unfold.

Some people will never believe the truth about Trump until he shoves it down their throats in a manner they can’t ignore. By the time this presidency ends they’ll know the meaning of pain and the depth of his care. And that’s equally true for the rest. Christians will never forgo their political biases until they’re broken financially. That’s when they’ll realize it was all a game and get back to what matters.

America has money for everyone but its citizens and they spit in our face again and again. If someone did the same outside of politics we’d respond differently. We wouldn’t believe what they say or trust their promises. But we do it for politicians and defend our support to our detriment.

A whip for the horse, a bridle for the donkey. And a rod for the backs of fools [who refuse to learn].

People in South Africa are equally divided over this.

My view is that once more privilege and color has won. Refugee status has been "taken" from people, who may have needed it even more.

And yes the targeted attacks on farmers are horrific, but I've also seen targeted attacks in the townships, in the hoods of Jozi, on the Cape flats (ask the youth growing up there who have no where to go) . Once more privilege has won.

There isn't a genocide there. The word genocide is thrown around these days willy nilly to the point where its become almost meaningless. There is bad things happening to white, black and brown because of their colour. Government is not only represented by a certain group of people. South Africa has various groups with different political ideologies.

I can say their is a lot more bad things happening to different people, but like all things political it depends on who gets the spotlight.

If you are here on a visa perhaps you had better think about what you wrote. The notion that South Africa is a complicated place with complicated race relations is anathema to the Trump administration.

Genocide is the justification used by the President of the United States to offer protected status. I agree, it is being thrown around willy nilly while those others he is revoking protection status for removal are in far worse scenarios than these South Afrikaners. For example those Afghanistans brave enough to help US troops during that war were promised US protection in the US. Trump has removed that protection so they either scramble to find someplace else, or go home and face the Taliban that Trump help put in power. Or telling outright lies to revoke the status of Venezuelans. Trump has long expressed his desire to fill America with people having blue eyes and blonde hair. Donald the Horrible, worst and most shameful president in US history is also a HYPOCRITE. I pray every day for God to shorten the length of his term and remove him from office for another more worthy. And God always answers my prayers...

I’m not sure we’d be better off with his replacement. Trump is bad and gets tiresome but he’s also a dope most times and that makes him relatively impotent and can’t get out of his own way to implement his agenda and he has at least, some basic endearing qualities. He’s good for a laugh and he’s a meme factory. That’s for sure.

Vance seems much more Machiavellian and calculating in his approach to politics while having none of the things that make Trump at least fun to talk about. A Vance presidency would have all the worst qualities of a Trump administration with a much less interesting person in charge.
