  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"It’s like he’s never stepped foot in a real locker room, especially not one where the sport demanded true athleticism, grit and toughness. It’s embarrassing to watch a Black man stand before the nation and promote boys competing against girls," Brewer said.
"The state has veered so far off course that it’s doing the exact opposite of what it once stood for. It used to be a national leader on Title IX and women’s rights. Now, it’s destroying women’s sports, degrading women and promoting situations where men are physically dominating women," Brewer continued.

There are so many people in real need in Minnesota and so many legitimate projects and this is how the left spends taxpayer dollars.

Governor Walz is doing a really good job helping "people in real need."

Free school lunch for all children, and more listed below.

It seems pretty hypocritical to say that Minnesota "wastes" money suing for the rights of a persecuted minority group when it clearly "invests" so much in its citizens to improve their quality of life.

The best way we could save state legal costs are to prevent Trump from blatantly violating the Constitution on an almost daily basis, causing dozens of very necessary, principled lawsuits to protect our Constitutional rights.

Aided by a Democratic sweep of the state legislature, Walz last year signed a landmark budget that established a generous child tax credit, created a paid family and medical leave program and made college tuition free for certain students, among other measures.

The One Minnesota Budget built upon the left-leaning policies that Walz established in the state, including protecting abortion rights and gender-affirming care, investing in affordable housing and instituting clean energy measures.

Also, Minnesota was one of the few states to raise taxes in recent years, even though it had large surpluses, the Tax Foundation said. The increases mainly affected businesses and high-wage earners. https://www.cnn.com/2024/08/07/politics/minnesota-governor-walz-progressive-policies/index.html

Just last night I went to one of my 11 yr old grandson's little league games. The first basemen was a girl.

""Executive orders cannot override federal laws or statutes, but they can direct federal agencies to implement an existing statute in a particular way and/or to implement a new policy priority.""

Instead of writing these constant edicts that have no power, if Trump et al, the GOP, and forum participants think this a grave issue, then again controlling all three branches of government they can easily craft legislation to redress this issue that effects .00001 percent of the population. So in the meantime, look at those shinny keys.

No, not closed.

Biden's order conformed with Federal and state laws. Trump's does not.
Again, a rather marginal issue on the minds of Americans.

There is nothing in the Constitution about a person pretending there are a gender that they are not. Joe should have gone for a Constitutional amendment or a new law.

We're not discussing pretending.

What's the difference between requiring that trans kids be allowed on girls teams and prohibiting them?
The Maine case is instructive: Two trans kids want to play on the girls team. The school is OK with it, the parents are OK with it and the girls on the team want them to play.. What business has the President to forbid it?

So if this were for a 10 and under league and instead of 2 trans kids it was 2 11-year-olds, would the list you gave be enough?

Or would you also want the opposition team to be OK with it?

What about the teams that have to play against them?
Do they want to play against a team with two biological male players?
Is anyone asking?

Imagine if conservatives spent as much energy actually supporting women's sports as they did protesting trans participation.
If women who identify as men want to play in men's sports I don't think you'll find much opposition.
But men competing against women in women's sports is just not fair

Except if we’re pregnant or miscarrying and need medical attention, but wait, there is a fetal heartbeat so we can’t help you. Sports though, well save you!
