  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Perhaps you know more than the Prince of Saudi Arabia - but I do not believe you do. Regardless - it happened and is being reported by numbers of sources.

Unlike you, I do not place my trust in the Prince of Saudi Arabia or the President of the United States. I prefer to conduct my own research and draw my own conclusions.

I have no interest in singing kumbaya when I know their announcement is completely false.

The fact is straightforward. Saudi Arabia's GDP is approximately 1.2 -1.6 trillion dollars, and it is not feasible for them to invest more than half of their GDP in a foreign country.

Nothing funny here.

The sad reality is that millions of Americans believe President Trump's false claims, despite evidence they can’t do a simple math. They cling to these lies to justify his narrative.

Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia does not have $600 billion to invest, millions of President Trump supporters believe it to be true.

Trump secures $600 billion Saudi investment pledge on Gulf tour

RIYADH, May 13 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump secured a $600 billion commitment from Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to invest in the United States after the oil power rolled out the red carpet for him at the start of a tour of Gulf states.
Trump punched the air as he emerged from Air Force One to be greeted by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who later signed an agreement with the president in Riyadh on energy, defense, mining and other areas.

I am starting to get the impression that you think this $600 billion will be paid out in one year. It is not I believe it'll be a 4 or 5 year payout.

US, Qatar deals to generate $1.2 trillion in 'economic exchange', White House says

May 14 (Reuters) - Agreements signed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on Wednesday will "generate an economic exchange worth at least $1.2 trillion," the White House said in a fact sheet, opens new tab summarizing some of the deals' details.
The agreements include a $96 billion deal with Qatar Airways to buy up to 210 Boeing 787 Dreamliner and 777X airplanes with GE Aerospace engines, the fact sheet said. They also include a statement of intent that could lead to $38 billion in investments at Qatar's Al Udeid Air Base and other air defense and maritime security capabilities, it said.

Datavolt is the only Saudi Arabian company, while the rest are American companies investing in America. I welcome and congratulate all these American companies. This is good news. However, the list you provided includes only a few Saudi Arabian companies investing in the US which doesn’t total to $600 billion USD.

Every investment is good news. If these investments come to fruition, President Trump will deserve credit. However, the $600 billion investment by Saudi Arabia is exaggerated and unrealistic, as they do not have that amount of money.

What is most concerning is that American voters are so committed to supporting their party that they cannot acknowledge simple facts.

$600 billion is equivalent to half of Saudi Arabia’s GDP. It's like the US committing to invest $13.5 trillion (half of its GDP) in another foreign country. It is not mathematically possible.

Roosevelt presided from a wheelchair didn't he?

I think you've missed the point entirely. which was:

The conversations also reveal the White House's determination to conceal the reality of Biden's condition, at the risk of his own health, while he faced a tough re-election bid against Donald Trump.
Lest we forget, the media tried to convince us that Biden was just fine and that any concerns of his obvious deterioration were conspiracy theories. Heck, they even invented a new term, "cheap fakes" to say that any video evidence of Biden's decline was doctored.

But oh what a difference a year makes. Now the same media that was telling us Biden was peachy-keen, fine and dandy are SHOCKED! SHOCKED I SAY! ...that they were "misled" about Biden's condition. Ironically, they seem completely unapologetic that they were willing participants in the "misleading", or as this article more accurately states, "concealing" of the former President's condition.

Then we'll have to wait for the correction from all the various news sources reporting on the story or the Saudi Prince denying it.

The media was painting Biden as the Great and Powerful Oz. The liberals just blindly believed it and accused conservatives of "deep fakes" and conspiracy theories because they were pointing out the frail old man behind the curtain. It is amazing how quickly the goal post was moved after the curtain was pulled open for all to see.

I see you holding onto this - let me ask a question -

If you are correct - why would the Crown Prince and his team sign a public legal document stating they will?

It would be a huge embarrassment for them.

It's not happening because he publicly signed the deal and then there was speech after speech acknowledging it.

It is difficult to understand the reasoning behind a dictator's decision to sign an agreement. The Saudi prince, who operates under a dictatorial regime, may not consider various factors with due diligence. If Saudi Arabia were a democracy like Canada or the UK, their parliament would likely not permit an unrealistic deal to be signed with such a cavalier approach.

Unlike you, I do not have confidence in a leader who oppresses their own people while living a lavish lifestyle.

First of all Saudi Arabia is a Monarchy that follows Sharia - not a dictatorship -

Second - Saudi Arabia does over 330 billion a year in oil sales to the world. They make up 35% of all OPEC sales -

Third - the Saud's have trillions of dollars in wealth and access to 220 years worth of oil reserves.

Lastly - if you knew anything about the culture - you would know to be embarrassed on a global level could and most likely cause the fall of the Monarchy.

Unlike you, I do not have confidence in a leader who oppresses their own people while living a lavish lifestyle.
Sophomoric personal jabs do not help you one bit, and further proves you have no idea who I am or what I believe. I understand the vitriolic detestation, and aversion towards the President of the United States - you demonstrate it often in your words. I am not him - I am your Brother in Christ. I would appreciate a little kindness and respect from a fellow believer.

In other words - keep your personal jabs to yourself, you are better than that.

I apologize for the personal jabs. It was a spur-of-the-moment remark that I regret.

Let us conclude this discussion and agree to disagree.
