House Bill 2436 would exempt law enforcement officers from being charged with deadly conduct for actions taken in the line of duty.
It's already passed the TX Senate and it's moving through the House. Supporters say police just can't do their jobs without being able to kill. Some critics say that it'll let police kill more. Other critics say that removing culpability for this specific crime will motivate prosecutors to charge them with more serious crimes.
