I’m not convinced that it’s the size of the vehicles that is a huge factor because all American auto manufacturers make midsized and compact vehicles. I would imagine that the fact that our cars are left side drive is probably the biggest factor. I don’t think American car manufacturers are making right side drive vehicles anymore. I remember seeing some back in the 70s but not any within the last 20 years. I could be wrong, I’m pretty much speculating based on not having seen and American made models made in the last 20 years that are right side drive.
Almost all countries outside UK and former colonies are driving on the right side of the road, IIRC. Size is a big thing, especially in cities, but it's also that US built cars fail EU emission standards/go to the bottom of the bracket which would make them be heavily taxed while in use. The EU and USA emission standards are different enough and look at different things that this occurs both ways. Like it's been said, it's a complicated thing. Ford did the right thing when they started selling in Europe and made models specifically for the market and built them there too. That's why things like the Focus and Fiesta got fairly popular and sell well in Europe.

A lot of it is the size of the cars, our midsized cars are typically considered large by EU standards. Our small cars have tended not to be great -- in fact, the better small US cars have tended to be European or Japanese, such as the Ford Focus (designed in Germany and Britain), the Chevy Aveo (designed in South Korea), etc. More than that, however; our engines (typically a 1.6 or 2.0L standard engine for compact cars) are much larger than similar sized cars in the EU (1.0 or 1.2L standard for compact cars). In much of Europe, the car is taxed based on the engine size, so they don't want the larger engines.

As was noted, emissions standards are different -- with different priorities. For example, in the US we try to eliminate "local pollutants," such as NOx emissions (part of why we don't have diesel engines in cars anymore, but they are still popular in Europe), in the EU they prioritize "global pollutants," such as CO2. Also, there are different safety requirements -- such as standards in the EU to limit damage to pedestrians if they are hit by a car which we don't have.

It's also worth noting that while we don't have a tariff on cars, we do have some high costs related to getting emissions testing -- and so many European cars don't come to the US because of the costs involved in getting the car certified to be sold in the US. While not technically a tariff, these costs prevent many car models from being brought to the US. There are people that claim that rather than having tariffs, we use the emissions and safety regulations, particularly the certification costs, as a way of limiting the number of cars imported.

And there are some American cars made with RHD. While Ford has a plant in Europe that supplies most of their European vehicles, they do make some things like the F-150, the Bronco, and the Mustang Mach E in RHD versions. It appears GM also makes a few, such as the Corvette, the Lyriq, the Silverado and Yukon. Though both GM and Ford have European and Asian divisions, with cars designed and made there, though GM cars in Europe then to be sold as Opel and Vauxhall cars.

I'm an independent, I'm not on the left or right nor am I going to defend Biden. He should not have run for a second term and Harris should not have been the choice to run in his place. But I have enough common sense to see when people are being shafted. Trump ran on the border (which Biden should have paid attention to) and he ran on the economy.
Fair enough so far.

What you're missing is that Trump's policies are affecting republicans and democrats alike and the majority of Americans are dissatisfied with his performance on the economy - saying it will help in the long run doesn't help those who need assistance now. How is it helping people's 401K plans which are cratering? How many would have voted for him if they knew this is what it would look like?
I have very little concern with the current stock market upheaval. The stock market is and has always been finicky on news events and political actions. It has always went up and come down. the market was at all time highs and it is foolish to act as thought it should or would stay there without correction.

I didn't like Musk then and I don't like him now - and his bestie, Trump, is getting tired of him too and distancing himself from Musk because he sees how unpopular he is. Finally, if you think Trump, Musk and all his other little syncophants aren't enriching themselves whille others are struggling, then you live in a fantasy world.
Now you are drifting into the fantasy world you accuse me of being in.You need to explain how cutting waste, fraud and abuse from government spending is enriches Trump or Musk. Musk who donates his time at great risk to his own business And Trump who donates his Presidential salary to charity are not enriching themselves on the government dime as you seem to imply. Maybe we should talk about some members of Congress who are actually doing what you claim. Trumps goal is to put this nation back on sound financial footing. Now lets touch on the tariffs. Obama, Schumer, and Pelosi are on record in past years ranting against the unfair tariffs on us from other countries. The only difference between their position then and Trumps position now is that he is actually doing something about it while they just bloviated on the topic.

Trump wants to be a dictator like Putin and Xi Zing Ping (sp??).
False liberal nonsense!

He's creating an autocratic society, like Putin and Xi,

More false liberal nonsense.
threatening members of Congress and the Senate if they don't support him,
Do you mean threatening to primary deep state operatives who ignore the electoral mandate of the last election? Sounds like typical politics from both side to me.

threatening judges,
Do you mean calling out activist rogue judges who are being smacked down by higher courts and congress. Doing you realize that about 67% of the nation wide injunctions against a president in the last 100 years are against Trump?

writing his own rules,

More liberal nonsense.
and trying to annex other countries
So? Do you not consider the national security implications and the fact that hostile nations would love to have for strategic advantage over us?

like Putin.

More liberal nonsense! Putin rolls in with tanks, I do not believe Trump has suggested such a move for Greenland or Canada.
Now he wants a military parade like Xi's for his birthday.
False! The idea of a parade has been floated but you fail to mention that June 14 which is Trumps birthday is also Flag Day and the 250th anniversary of the Army.
If you really can't see all that is going on, then you're lost.
I see what is going on. !. An attempt to restore physical sanity to this nation which if is not done we are doomed to bankruptcy and collapse.2. An attempted to control the border which neither party in past was willing to do. 3.An attempt to rid many government agencies of a bloated unnecessary work force. 4. An attempt to remove burdensome unneeded regulations that only hamper progress. This could be a much longer list but you get the point.

I'll continue to criticize Trump just like I criticzed Biden.
Great
They are both old and incompetent.
Only half true Trump is fully competent!

I tried working on one of those new fangled computer car engines once. Couldn't find the carburetor.
I don't have that problem on my big block Ford 460 cubic inch. All I need is a hammer, screw driver, and some JB Weld.

Forget tariffs — Beijing is already choking off US exports on the sly

[China] has already declined to renew export licenses for hundreds of meatpacking plants, alleged that some U.S. chicken products contain unwanted drugs and stopped importing U.S. natural gas.

A potentially bigger problem is Beijing’s decision to restrict its exports of critical minerals to the United States. China is by far the largest source of such minerals, leaving the United States with little alternative for supply.

except only way Canada or greenland is becoming the 51st states is invasion, and vance refused to take military action off the table against greenland. And they kept making the comments long after we both made it clear we wanted nothing to do with becoming part of the states, after a while it starts becoming a threat.

Australia and China to use Trumpian terminology have struck a deal where Australia will increase meat exports to China to make up for the shortfall.
It shows what happens when you impose tariffs on a trading partner based on an idiotic mathematical equation that has nothing to do with tariffs.

So what happens when we go to war with a country like China and we can’t get access to important commodities like pharmaceuticals for example because companies don’t make them in the US because it costs too much in tariffs to export them to other countries? America has become too dependent on imports and that’s not going to change as long as it’s cheaper to make the products somewhere else and ship them to the US. Manufacturing products in America not only strengthens our economy, it’s strengthens our self sufficiency.
And that's a sensible conversation to have. But unfortunately for the US, Trump doesn't do sensible.

Yeah, democrats got jealous of Trump and immediately(*) jumped in Obama's time machine, leading to them saying the things they did decades ago.

Hard to believe this spin is meant to be taken seriously.
Take it however you want, I truly do not care.

Well I can’t argue with that. When was the last time we had a sensible president in office? I can’t remember it.
