Do you believe that Trump has an ACTUAL plan?

Do you believe that Trump has, not a vision, but a plan to make his vision a reality?

Yes, and I think it's tripe. Do you really think what's going on with the stock market right now is going to have a devastating impact on your 401k 38 years from now?
People near or in retirement don't have 38 years to wait for a recovery.

Both empathy and racism have meaning.
The Catholic Church places racism right next to abortion as an "intrinsic evil."
Empathy is part of "emotional intelligence." One is not fully human without empathy.
Yes, yes the Democrat party and progressive liberals are loaded to the brim and overflowing with empathy. I get it. I'll never tire of them going on and on and on about about how abundantly epithetic they are, along with how extra intelligent they are. Oh and how non-judgmental they are, compared to those deplorable uncaring dull witted Republicans and conservatives.

Yes, there are psychological terms for those who don't exhibit empathy, or more as to Trump, compassion.
Or least to say, his compassion is often reserved for those in many cases who have been convicted in claims of "they have been treated very unfairly" and pardons them. He exhibits more compassion for them than he did the widow of the soldier where he responded, "well, he knew he signed up for".

Yeah but people who are 27 do. Don't you ever look at profiles? And once again, I'm 63 and therefore am real close to retirement age, so it's not like I need to understand what it's like being there, because I am there.

Point missed. Never mind.
No, I got your point, I just don't think much of it. Lets be realistic here, this is all really only about vilifying, not crying over a temporary slump poor people's 401k earnings.

Nope. Still missed it. Yet let it be known you were in fact "crying over a temporary" costs because of the worldwide inflation caused by covid related supply chain issues, yet blamed on a senile Biden. Frankly, that's kind of a word I would normally use, but let's say it just kind of rich.

The usual stuff I pick up fro QFC.
Lunch meat
Cheese
Loaf of bread
Chicken
Three TV dinners
Three cans of soda
Aspirin

I was expecting it to be $60 tops. It would have been $50 last year. Prices are too high and getting higher and Biden is too senile to realize that since he thinks inflation is go down. It's not going down, it's going up through the stratosphere.

I thought conservatives were the ones calling to get rid of PC language and telling everyone else to toughen up? Which is it? Are we supposed to pull our punches or try for an honest assessment?

I believe his plan is to push cash into treasuries, which forces the Fed to slash interest rates in May, and those lower rates give the Fed the ability to refinance trillions of debt very inexpensively. It also weakens the dollar and drops mortgage rates. It also forces farmers to sell more of their products here in the U.S., to bring grocery prices way down. We’ve already seen this with eggs. Now, remember, 94 percent of all stocks are owned only by eight percent of Americans. So Trump, he’s taking from the rich short term and handing it to the middle class through lower prices.

The tariffs forces companies to build here to dodge them. It also forces farmers to sell more of their products here in the U.S., to bring grocery prices way down. We’ve already seen this with eggs. Now, remember, 94 percent of all stocks are owned only by eight percent of Americans. So Trump is taking from the rich short term and handing it to the middle class through lower prices.

Now I wait to hear your arguments about why I am wrong and how the plan is stupid.
then why did he drop the tariffs? :> that was the only supposed leverage.

I've given up on trying to figure out what Trump is going to do. I'm trusting him to do the right thing for the country. Hopefully we'll be in a better place once his term is over. We'll see.
zero chance of that, the loss of respect, trust, trading partners, and so on will not be better.

There's no comparison between dealing with current cost of living expenses and a long term 401k. The only time someone really takes it in the shorts when playing the stock market (which a 401k is not) is when you buy high and the sock crashes, when you're doing short term investments. Long term investments that are years, much less decades old, aren't affected that dramatically by the highs and lows which come and go. Which you can expect plenty of in all the time you have until you reach 401k retirement.

And of course there's no way you're going to say how.
Go back and reread it. What point am I making. Is it the fact people are losing money, or is it Trump's responses to that?

Which one?

Yes, there is a difference between losing a 100k in your retirement as juxtaposed to the temporary cost of lunch at QFC. Moreover, one of those phenomenons was fueled by a worldwide pandemic, the other fueled by the desires of one man.

Are you saying you lost 100k in your 401k in a week? I really don't think you understand how a 401k works.

When was the times tariffs were turned on and off. I know the latest was a pause not turned off. So what are those 3 or 4 times.
Fair point. They were threatenned 3 or 4 time and then, had last minute reprieves. I guess technically that is different. Not sure it's better but....

He didn't drop the tariffs. It is still at 10% with the exception of China.
yeah, 10% of tariff that targets countries wether the trade deficit is in the US favour or the other countries, thats not going to help jobs or anything.

The complaint is that people just made a bunch of money. But only because that supposedly was only billionaires.
