What was his “crime”?

Mahmoud Khalil is not accused of violating any law, yet the United States government has arrested and incarcerated him, a legal resident of the United States, for exercising free speech. You don't see the problem with this?

After leading violent and threatening protests at Columbia University, on Saturday, President Trump’s ICE agents arrested activist Mahmoud Khalil, who has led anti-Israel protests at Columbia and Barnard College.

Khalil had threatened Columbia in the past, saying “As long as Columbia continues to invest and to benefit from Israeli apartheid, the students will continue to resist,”

Then he had more ominous words “Not only protests and encampments, the limit is the sky.”

But I suppose if he's pro-hammas and anti-jew, that means he's a victim who's constitutional rights are being violated by the dictator administration.

Where do you get that he is either of those things? Pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel for sure, but supporting Palestinians does not mean that one supports Hamas, nor does opposing Israel's actions in Palestine make one an antisemite.
