I don't recall Piers Morgan commenting on US politics before Trump's first presidential run (in which he was favorable to the President). More relevant to the topic of discussion though, I can't recall him ever having anything positive to say about Democrats. So his criticism here doesn't really have much weight.

I didn't think telling the truth and having decorum 99.9% of the time when the current president had about 2300 credibly refuted and annotated lies during his first term, and heavens knows how many since his 2024 campaign began is a weakness.
