Trump's executive order doesn't effect California law. His EO basically effects how the Federal government is run, not state government.

It makes it clear which party to vote for depending on what one wants for children. A repeat of the 2003 gubernatorial recall is called for.

Boys don’t belong in girls sports. Period. I don’t care if he identifies as a girl. It’s very unfair to the girls competing.

This is what the voters wanted. There is not much you can do about it. Perhaps someone can get this to the Supreme Court. Otherwise, you females are just going to have to eat it. Elections have consequences, and this is one of them. California Democrats outnumber Republicans 2 to 1. You get what you vote for. All you young ladies who are being pushed out of your sports, you are welcome to come to SC or the dozens of other states that prohibit males in female sports.

Why anyone would allow males in girl’s sports, regardless of political party, is beyond me!

Boys and girls are biologically different and built differently.

That’s a scientific fact.

My understanding is that Feds can remove funding if a state will not comply with their Fed laws/regulations. State can do what they want but will schools be happy to forgo fed funding.

The federal government, if push comes to shove, would lose. California could simply leave the union and take their tax dollars and agricultural goods with them. California has the fifth largest economy in the world.

Individual sports bodies should decide what is fair. It should not be a political issue. Trump is only seeking to sensationalize a wedge issue for his own political gain, because it's not longer cool to attack gay people in polite society, but he knows with his base that transphobia is almost as good as open homophobia. So it becomes a dual strategy- appeal to the base, and confuse the mushy middle.

California can't "simply" leave the union. Any unilateral declaration by California would most likely lead to civil war (just like what happened the last time a state unilaterally declared its secession), and even if that is somehow avoided, there's nothing "simple" about it just quitting the country which would be an exceedingly messy situation for both sides and would probably make Brexit look like a picnic (the various ties between the UK and the European Union are considerably less strong than that of California and the United States). And California's economy would probably take a major hit as a result.

Trump will cut federal funding to Gavin Newsoms California it's simple, Trumps not playing around with the progressive liberalism as his executive orders clearly show

California is a big state, with a lot of unusual ideas. Maybe they should put together some trans basketball teams that could play each other.

Awhile back, Newsome said he wasn't in favor of trans players on girls teams. As I said then, that didn't mean he planned to do anything about it.

This isn't about transphobia or homophobia or attacks. it's about protecting girls and women. A tiny minority cannot tell the majority what to do. That's where I stand.

Texas is the only state that has the right to secede from the United States. California doesn’t have that authority.

All of the girl players should refuse to compete in protest. Wanna take the trans out of women’s sports? Take the women out so there is no women sports. That’s one way to stick it to the organizations that are supporting this.

...because they were once a nation?

I don't see that ever happening, though.
