Well, when a definition of "democracy" suspends elections and all else things that Zelinsky has done people can keep it, I won't support it.

My REPUBLIC has a different make up and I want no part of whatever people are trying to pass as democracy these days.

The one thing this definition of democracy is missing is freedom.

1) Zelensky's popularity in Ukraine is higher than Trumps in the US. Yes Ukraine's want the war to end....because they want russia to leave.
2) Trump again has to lie to make a point (Trump claimed his popularity was 4%) and his underlings have to excuse this unscrupulous man....

Actually, no. The war was being fought in Confederate areas in 1864 -- and people in the Confederate states were not allowed to vote and were not considered part of the US in that period, being in rebellion. So there was no issue holding a vote for those that were eligible to vote.

Those opinions are based on EVIDENCE. I want you to explain how you deal with the EVIDENCE that has been presented to you. Because for all intents and purposes it seems that Evidence just get's ignored by Trump supporters.

PUTIN INVADED another sovereign state in a massive land grab. He wants the whole of Ukraine because then Russia would have the mountains on the left of Ukraine to help protect him from NATO. As it is - he has to police thousands of miles of border from the southern seas up to various Northern NATO countries. But if he had Ukraine, the western mountains would radically reduce how many tanks he needed to defend his lines.

PUTIN is the one who holds absolute sham votes - and of course wins them all. He is the one who runs state controlled TV that carries so much propaganda that families with cousins in Ukraine don't speak to them anymore, because those 'awful' Ukrainians keep saying they were unfairly invaded. But the Russians believe it is some kind of defensive action to deal with Nazis!

Various government processes are curtailed during a national emergency like a war. This is perfectly normal and constitutional for many countries. Ukraine's constitution allows it. Not only that - a fifth of the country and many millions of Ukrainians are displaced by the war, living in chaos, might not have a fixed address - and many are on the front lines! How can anyone vote during all that?

Are the UK and Canada and New Zealand all tyrannies? They've all postponed elections during wars.

Does anyone know when Russia last had an election that was widely regarded as fair and not influenced by Vladimir Putin? This excludes the 2024 election where Putin received 88.48% of the vote, the 2018 election where he received 77.5%, and the 2012 election where he received 64.35%.
