I think there is an arguable difference between government grants to religious entities and fee-based compensation such as Medicaid or Medicare payments for health services rendered. Faith based agencies have as much right to engage in professional health care practice as do secular enterprises. That is my opinion.

No doubt. But it's an interesting situation. If ICE knows they are sheltering illegals, they can come and get them whenever they want. In the meantime, Catholic Charities is feeding and housing them. If ICE takes them, then ICE will have to feed and house them until they are deported, So ICE would be using federal money to support them until they were deported and they would have to spend more federal money for the infrastructure to do it. What's the problem?
