CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, it wasn't a total loss. I understand that Trump has restored the name of an incompetent rebel general to Fort Liberty. And the Gulf of America thing might catch on. After all, it's the name of the two continents which surround it.

US citizen was arrested during the raid. How? Why? I would argue thst the evidence suggested that he was knowingly harboring illegal criminal migrants.

How so? The article says nothing about whether any of the migrants detained in the raid had criminal records, so "criminal migrants" is a baseless assumption. And he was a fellow employee at the business - how does that equate to "harboring"? Seems to me that he was arrested because ICE officials assumed that he was an illegal immigrant based on his ethnicity and the fact that he was working with illegal immigrants, despite the fact that he had documentation showing his citizenship.

It seems to me that if any papers were checked then everyone's papers should be checked
I was held for hours with the shearing crew. My papers were checked exactly the same as everyone elses papers.
There wasn't any discrimination or privilege for anyone.
The employer was being investigated for hiring illegal immigrants who did not have social security cards, thereby violating US tax law.
The illegal Austrialians were charged with various violations of fraudulent and expired visas.
Even if a person is a US citizen, in that type of raid, All the employees will be held until all the papers are checked.
This is a routine that has been happening for decades or more.

This is going to happen a lot. How long before the courts are full of wrongful arrest cases? I was going to say that you're probably OK if you're as white as Trump. But actually...that comparison doesn't really work.

ICE can raid a businiess on probable cause.
And it is not the illegals the ICE are after, it is the hiring of illegals.
And the use of phony SS# or no SS# at all.
Taxes, taxes taxes and the government has wide latitude in investigaing and prosecuting those crimes
If everyone was held an equal amount of time and the papers of every person without regard to sex national origin or race are scrutinized, then there isn't any discrimination.
There won't be any lawsuits because the procedure of these raids has been set for decades
There were thousands of raids all over Arizona a few years back. It was the same procedure and it didn't result in any lawsuit other than Income tax evasion, falsification of documents and illegal entry into US.

They now have quotas to fill. You'd have to be pretty naive with zero understanding of human nature not to realise what the result of that was going to be. You were warned months ago about what was likely to happen. Now you're going to watch it unfold in real time.
You know how many Trump wants to deport. Let's keep it simple and say 10 million. Even if ICE screws up one half of one percent of all arrests, that's 50,000 people.
