  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Geocentric or Heliocentric (what shape is the earth) ?

There are more proofs in the Bible that point towards God creating a Geocentric earth than a Heliocentric earth.

What do you guys think ?
You know what we think; in fact what we know to be true. And you don't believe us - so why ask?

Geocentric and Heliocentric both say the earth is a globe. The difference between the two is one states the sun goes around the earth (Geocentric). While the other states the earth goes around the sun (Heliocentric)

So there is no difference in the shape in Geocentric and Heliocentric. Both are lies concerning the shape.

Believe what you wish. However, if you spread His Gospel mixed with long-discredited ideologies, you will greatly dishonor Him.

What do I think?

With all we know now of our Universe, we can't really categorize our existence as specifically Geocentric or Heliocentric.

What we all should know by now is that physically speaking, we don't exist on a Geocentric earth even if, from a spiritual, Christian point of view, we may think that the Earth is the locus of God's Grace in Christ toward Humanity.

What do you mean how come. did you not read where i wrote.

Geocentric and Heliocentric both say the earth is a globe. So the shape Geocentric and Heliocentric say the earth is, is a sphere. So there is no difference in the shape.

But don't some Flat Earth people believe that the earth is at the centre? I am almost certain I've sen Apple Sky say that, for instance.

Not really sure of your point, but If they say geocentricism. Is the same as flat earth, they either do not understand flat earth or geocentricism or both.

In flat earth the sun, moon and stars are small lights that move over the earth. That only light up the earth and there is no outer space and other planets.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. I was answering your point: "Geocentric and Heliocentric both say the earth is a globe." That's why I said that the Geocentric believers include some who also believe that the earth is flat. As you say, they believe that the sun, moon and stars are small lights that move over the earth, so to them the earth is central.

The way i see it is if a flat earth believer understands (the creation) what they believe. Then they will see geocentricism as not being the same as a flat earth. The only common tie, these two beliefs would have is the sun moves.

The answer is all 'around' us...

We are on a globe....we are not in a snow globe!! The earth is not flat. Saying so is unbiblical and unscientific and unrealistic....
