But as Genesis doesn't tell us HOW God created, how do we know that he didn't set off/control evolution?
Explain then. But Genesis does tell us how God created the earth.
Explain then.
That doesn't tell me HOW God created only that he did.Genesis 1.
Genesis tells us that GOD created.
Scientists have discovered a bit about HOW he created.
Some scientists dispute that there is a God and that trees, animals etc all came about by chance. Other scientists believe in God - and some have even come to faith by studying his creation.
That doesn't tell me HOW God created only that he did.
I've asked this before; show me, from Genesis 1 HOW God made trees.
How did his words "let the land produce vegetation" result in trees, bark, wood, leaves, petals and so on?
Did he create seeds which grew, so that by the end of the "day" they were mature plants?
Did he create saplings/acorns that grew very quickly?
Did the plants, trees and bushes just pop out of thin air, fully formed?
HOW did God make animals?
How did he decide that some would have fur and some feathers?
How did he decide that some birds would not be able to fly?
How did he make insects and give some 6 legs and some 100?
How did he make a flea's reproductive system?
Just saying. "he spoke and they appeared" isn't enough. How did they appear; how were they made?
Answers from Genesis 1 only please, since you claim that this tells us the answers.
Why? That isn't the issue. So tell me a discovery that scientist have discovered, that tell how God created.
@Apple Sky was honest enough to admit that it doesn't show this and was decent enough to apologise, (though no apology was really needed).
That's very gracious of you; thank you.I think an apology was needed as I did try to argue the fact plus I promised @prodromos that I wouldn't provoke anymore.
Why? That isn't the issue.
I said that Genesis tells us THAT God created, but doesn't tell us how. I was challenged on that and told that I should look at Genesis 1 to see how God created. I asked; "from Genesis 1 show us how God created trees, etc."
@Apple Sky was honest enough to admit that it doesn't show this and was decent enough to apologise, (though no apology was really needed).
The Bible tells us that GOD created, full stop. GOD, not a passing angel, not a false god, a goblin, fate or anything else.
The God who is revealed in the Bible, the God of Abraham, Moses, David, Elijah etc. The God who parted the Red Sea, sent fire from heaven, brought a dead child back to life; the God who performed miracles to lead an entire nation out of slavery, the God who David described as a Rock and a majestic king - the God whom Jesus said we could call Abba; "daddy", the God who can live IN each of us by his Spirit - THIS God created the universe.
Why are people getting so hung up on the details of how he did it?
If you're a scientist and a Christian and can give an explanation or talk scientific details; go for it. I can't give you details about how God created.
There is a difference between what and how.-Why you are the one who wrote scientist Scientists have discovered a bit about HOW he created.
The Bible tells us what God created if you do not want to accept this, fine continue following the lies of science.
There is a difference between what and how.
God created everything; the Bible tells us that. It does not tell us how he created it.
If you can't accept this, I can't help you.
Nor I yours.-I do not need your help.
Yes, it tells us in various places that He spoke Creation into existence. He said, "Let there be light," and there was light, for example. But Genesis does tell us how God created the earth.
It is not about how God created but what God created and Genesis 1 tells us what God created.
