Trump trusted his son, Barron on the "in trend" and it paid off big time. Unlike traditional media, social media allows a degree of freedom that enables their influencers to be more authentic to their audiences. This is a big source of consternation within the Democratic party. "We gave you one and a half billion dollars, and you lost?? And you're in debt??" Her campaign spent millions of it getting pop stars to give concerts. Kamala couldn't give a press conference, or articulate any platform, but she paid to put on concerts. Pop stars already get paid for concerts. Couldn't Lady Gaga do a concert on her own and maybe just in between songs deliver some eloquent political oratory like "Orange man bad. Support Kamala"?

My understanding is that the use of Oprah's production company was a pre-requisite for Oprah's appearance. Otherwise, there were certainly other venues they could have rented or gotten free as a donation.

Then the documents from the Federal Elections Commission came out, showing the payments to Harpo

so the story changed to the one you are now promoting: that somehow a payment to Oprah's closely-held company does not amount to a payment to Oprah. That there is some kind of difference

which is complete nonsense: a payment to Harpo is a payment to Oprah
