  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In my experience, when following Love, Harmony and Beauty, that leaves no room for holy wars and such. That's especially true when experiencing the Divine in every Human Soul. Though I would agree there's a lot of pseudo-mysticism out there. But I believe it's experiencing is how God is made a reality in one's life. For me, the choice is to either believe in God or consciously be in God.
Actually there no room for holy or any other type of war in me.

Those full of their holy righteousness,
and belief in “ sin nature”, though, are
much Inclined to see those not like them
to be in need of exterminnation.
So that love can prevail.

Jesus is God's own Son; Jesus is superior to all of us humans. His compassion is not a human-quality human-character thing.
The lesson, in my way of thinking, has more to do with our own compassion and how we can learn to be more Christ like in His compassion. What I find inspiring is that it's a compassion that can be experienced and expressed regardless of ones religious affiliation, or none at all, within the Hearts of Human Beings across the globe.

Are you familiar with the book "A Course in Miracles"? It was published 50 years ago and claims to be the words of Jesus. But I've only learned about it and started reading it in the last few months.

I ran across it 40 years ago. It's interesting to me that your reading it, especially someone in this particular forum. It's one of those must have books in my library.

You consider it a "must have" book. This is encouraging. I like it a lot.

So far, I'm reading it online, but I plan to buy the new "Complete and Annotated" edition.

You're right. To claim that human beings have a "sin nature" is a pernicious teaching that has invaded some forms of Christianity.

I've found it a blessing to be freed from images of "sin nature". Coming from the perspective of Lover of God, that freeing process has opened the door to being able see every soul as an activity of God. And that, for me, is where Love prevails.
