Instead, we are daily told how these people take billions of our dollars, destroy their own country and then demand we support them here because they can't govern themselves or take care of themselves in any way, even when we pay them, so they have to live here and be our new dependants....

Yes, Trump and the right wing media stream thrives off this narrative.
New immigrants are less dependent on the government than Americans who have been here for generations. Immigrants understand the value of hard work and the dollar. I can't say the same for America's younger generations....

This is the same old Democrats saying "people are pouring into the US as refugees due the horrid conditions in their countries" to Democrats proclaiming "Republicans saying anything negative about the conditions of those countries is racist!".

Not racist, poor taste and insulting to good people.

Dating advice from Stephen Miller;
: “Show that you are a real man. Show that you are not a beta. Be a proud and loud Trump supporter, and your dating life will be fantastic.”
I know 0 (that's a zero) women of any age who would hear someone use the word beta and think you are for me.

How does pointing out Puerto Rico's massive landfill crisis an insult to good people?
He did not say "landfills" he said "Puerto Rico". Don't you get that?

He was talking about the landfills not the citizens.

Since we must have a plethora of threads on an already debunked topic I'll repost my post from the other thread here:

The man was a comedian known for Roasts:

"being based out of The Comedy Store in L.A. In 2020, he began hosting an online course on “Roasting” called RoastMaster Class, drawing from his over decade long knowledge of writing for 8 Comedy Central Roasts and performing on roasts and roast battles, both educational and entertaining, the “RoastMaster Class” started as just a parody video and then became a real project that he began to enjoy doing, thus he released it upon the debut of his Patreon."

I'm pretty sure everyone knows what a roast is... The man I suppose was trying for funny.

The Democrats called Mexicans a bunch of thieves claiming that if Trump didn't build the wall in a day there wouldn't be any metal left because Mexicans would steal it....

Seems they thought that was funny... It's just not humorous when the comedian is hired by Republicans.

The lesson here is no matter what Republicans do it's bad, no matter what Democrats do it's good.

He didn't say anything about the people.
He spoke of the entire island. Does he know islands don't float? Super poor taste, offensive and inappropriate. Even the Trump organization issues a distancing statement. Were they wrong?

'This joke does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign,' said a senior Trump adviser

Trump’s Puerto Rico fallout is ‘spreading like wildfire’ in Pennsylvania

Evidence of the backlash was immediate on Monday.

Many Puerto Rican voters in the state are furious about racist and demeaning comments delivered at a Trump rally. Some say their dismay is giving Kamala Harris a new opening to win over the state’s Latino voters, particularly nearly half a million Pennsylvanians of Puerto Rican descent.

“This was just like a gift from the gods,” said Victor Martinez, an Allentown resident who owns the Spanish language radio station La Mega, noting some Puerto Rican voters in the area have been on the fence about voting at all.

“If we weren’t engaged before, we’re all paying attention now,” Martinez said. He added the morning radio show he hosts was chock-full of callers Monday sounding off on the Trump rally comments, including a Puerto Rican Trump supporter who is now telling people not to vote for the former president.

Local Democrats like Dominguez argue the fallout at the very least reminds Puerto Rican voters of Trump’s previous comments about the island, calling it “dirty” and tossing paper towels to survivors during a 2017 visit after Hurricane Maria devastated the island and killed more than 2,000 people.

“I’m not a Republican, I’m not a Democrat, I’m independent,” Roberto L. Lugo said. “But at this point, it’s not about political, partisan issues. It is about the respect and honor our Puerto Ricans and Latinos deserved as citizens and legal residents of this country, that’s the issue.”

“We held Trump and his campaign responsible for this disgraceful act,” he added.

State Rep. Danilo Burgos, co-chair of the “Latinos con Harris” group in Pennsylvania, said residents have spread the comments on social media and within Philadelphia’s Puerto Rican community.

“I saw two ladies in particular saying they were considering voting for Trump, but they’re not now,” he said, “because of the comments.”

He also said that Puerto Rican megastar Bad Bunny’s endorsement of Harris could be a game changer in Pennsylvania, arguing that a third-party candidate in Puerto Rico’s governor’s election surged from a double-digit deficit because the superstar got involved.

Kenny Perez, an employee at Freddy and Tony’s, said in an interview at the restaurant on Monday that he’s often turned off by politics and normally doesn’t vote. But he condemned the Trump rally comments and said while he’s still deciding, this year, he thinks he’ll vote for Harris and “definitely not for Trump.”

Just in case anyone was actually curious.

That article is from 3.5 years ago. I can barely find any mention of their landfill issues from the last year and only a few from within the last two years.

He was talking about the landfills not the citizens.

Yes because pointing out that Puerto Rico has a massive landfill crisis is a fact, not a "dehumanizing insult".
No, despite @Hammster's suggestion, it wasn't a joke about Puerto Rico's landfill problem - an issue that got little press between 2-7 years ago when it was becoming a problem, and virtually none in the last 2 years. It was a joke about the garbage patches that float around the ocean.

No, it's not funny when it's delivered at a political rally where a non-insignificant portion of your audience might take it seriously.

It also just wasn't funny, period, but it was even less funny given the context. I actually did laugh at some of his jokes, including one of the ones about... um... reproductive rates.

No, that is not how it came off.

Especially when remembering Trump describing American as a garbage can because of the immigrants.

Unless you are Native American, you are a descendant of immigrants.

Are you in all honesty saying he was calling the citizens of Puerto Rico human garbage?
No. He was insulting the entire island. Most people try to take pride and ownership in where they are from.
Like if I insult Mississippi you don't think the people there will take offense?

This sort of obtuse insensitivity does not make America great.

lol is that what you’re all going with now?

“He denigrated a racial minority and turned them into a joke out of genuine concern for the landfill crisis they face on the island.”
