I'm curious as to how Solomon's slump is similar to Musk's.
My comment was intended to show this "slump" is the problem of people who chase after mammon.
Of course Musk isn't really experiencing a slump in the first place.
Matterially he may or may not experiencing a slump. Profit goes up. Profit goes down.
I am speaking of the "slump" of the vanity of not being spiritually satisfied by great wealth.
The NT says those who pursue riches pierce themselves through with many sorrows.
But those who intend to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into destruction and ruin. For the love of money is a root of all evils, because of which some, aspiring after money, have been led away from the faith and pierced themselves through with many pains. (1 Tim. 6:9,10)
But it would still be interesting to see someone make a list of comparisons. Is Musk posting material similar to Ecclesiastes?
I have not been following carefully what Elon Musk is into. I think he dreams of people going to live on Mars. I think he
has hyped up the idea of humanity spreading to Mars. Meanwhile the planet we have is in grave danger of being uninhabitable.
One commentator said that the hope of humans starting over on Mars is like saying on the Titanic the real party
is in the lifeboat.
The intention is good hearted. And he seems to have many opnions that everybody should listen to.
Maybe he feels his gigantic wealth gives him the authority speak to the world's problems.
Maybe some of that is media hype.
What does that have to do with his ability to help fix democracy?
Elon Musk may be able to invent some technological bandaids to temporarily "fix" some democracy problems.
My opinion is that he is enslaved rather to making more and more money behind all this "fixing".
Are you putting your hope in technology as a solution to society's ills?
I am not putting my trust in technology solving the problems of either democracy or totalitarianism.
My hope is in Christ completely as the
"desire of the nations" (Hagai 2:7) for peace, justice, righteousness, and the saving of the
environment. My hope is in the comig of Christ. That crucified and resurrected Lord and Savior of the world is the only one
to be universally vindicated. The total vindication of the Son of God is history's one great inevitabile destination.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words shall by no means pass away. (Matt. 24:35)
