Amen to this. It feels that I am on the Lord's side every day, but especially today. God brought one of my former coworkers and I together to make amends (she works in a nearby building at the corporate campus), as God is helping me become slower to judge others. We are now friends.

Once again, the lyrics remind me of Proverbs, as we must trust in the Lord, to be on His side. Psalms also fits the lyrics, as we must follow God's ways. Petra is a very Biblical band. Thank you introducing me to this 1980s classic.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV): "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Psalm 119:105-106 (NIV): "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws."

By the way, this song is not originally by Petra. It was written in 1989 by Reverend Timothy Wright, two years before Peta released the song. Just found that out today.

Amen, brother. I like the Gospel version equally with the Petra version. Both these songs make me wanna dance, and shout praise to the Lord above. When we are on the Lord's side, we can win any spiritual battle. If the battle is not won in our lifetimes, it is won when we are in heaven, as Jesus died and rose again for us and our salvation as Christians.

For some reason my husband isn't remembering this song being done by this band, he thinks it may have been due to a move at the time possibly.

Agreed. I am not a fan of 99.99% of metal either, unless it is pop-punk style with melody and smooth, clean vocals.

I actually like good metal because it's just classical music on electric instruments, some singers are good also. It takes the right voice though.

Some of what came out in the 80's didn't pass the test in my opinion for metal. Either that or I'm just not in the mood for anything too hard... Lol.

Agreed with you there. Instrumental metal is my favorite subgenre of metal. Mainstream metal is hard to bear, but if someone made metal covers of classical music, I'd download those covers.

However, if one wants good Christian soft metal, or maybe hard rock (hard to describe the genre), Seventh Day Slumber is a good band.

Amen to that. Stryper is not really for me, but Seventh Day Slumber is a great band.
