Great. Now this is the flat earth map from the Flat Earth Society: Maps :: concrete5. I guess those guys know what they are doing re flat earth, and this is the one that they make available. As they say: 'A very common map created by our Society for use in online materials.'

That's me in the top right hand corner in Australia. Now let's measure it.

Call it up on Google Maps and do the same thing to measure the rough distance east to west and then north to south. I get around 3,800kms east to west and 2,200kms north to south. East to West is about 1.7x the distance north to south. But...look at the map above. The east to west looks about 5x that of north to south.

Now try another distance. I've flown from Sydney to LA. And from Sydney to Santiago. Both flights are about the same time. 13 hrs to L.A. and 12 1/2 hrs to Santiago. And that ties in nicely if we measure the distances. It's about the same distance to Santiago at 12,000kms and 11,500kms to L.A. But...again, look at the map. The distance from Sydney to Santiago is about double that to L.A. You'd actually fly over the US to get to Santiago. I had a window seat. We didn't fly over the US.

The map is wrong.

I do apologize, I didn't see what he'd written, but even assuming the photo is real there's no saying what it is, it's certainly not a space ship.

Sorry, but you don't need to know a lot about the Bible to know that.

If God had dictated these books, there would probably not be 4 Gospels as he would not say the same thing 4 times over using the same words. There ARE 4 Gospels, each written by a different author, to different people and with different emphases - eg Matthew wrote for Jews; Luke wrote for Gentiles. They are written in the 3rd person - "then a voice spoke from heaven", not "then I spoke from heaven". "An angel from God said ....", not "I sent my angel who said ....".
If God had dictated the NT he would, quite simply, have said "I command the churches to .......", or "all my followers must do ......", or "then I sent Paul/Barnabas/Timothy to ....".
But it doesn't say that at all.
Paul sometimes writes in his epistles, "I say this, not the Lord" e.g. 1 Corinthians 7:12. He is sometimes exasperated - when he says that those who teach circumcision should castrate themselves. He sometimes gives pastoral advice - like telling Timothy to stop drinking only water but drink wine for his frequent illnesses, (water wasn't very clean in those days.) He sometimes asks favours from them "bring my cloak and my scrolls next time you visit". Or says that, the Lord willing, he hoped to see them soon. He writes about how his plans had to change - through a vision he saw, through illness or once because he was shipwrecked. James says that people should say "if the Lord is willing, I will ....."; if God had dictated that he would have said something like, "you should pray and ask me if I am willing."

Of course the writers were filled with the Spirit and inspired; but it was their human hands that wrote the words.
