How do they know what email was used to verify the original account with?

You would have to have the owners of the various sites doxx the account wholly and then tie the original IP address used to verify the account to the IP address of Robinson wouldn't you?

How did CNN manage to get that done and who has verified the information as accurate?

He evidently did not cover his tracks very well. This is one problem with being stupid naive about the internet. Did you read how the allegations were researched and verified?

CNN is a biased organization. If I am going to believe something as salacious as this accusation, then I will want to read sources that can prove what CNN is saying is true. It is not difficult for a person to impersonate someone else on the internet. In fact, I believe that impersonating someone on the internet was easier a decade ago than it is today; unless someone is using AI tech today. Then, of course, it would be easier with AI technology.

They’re citing pages from 15 years ago. Anything is possible, but it’s a fair bit of work to hack into multiple sites and create a back story like this. It’d be easier and more effective to just frame him for kiddy porn.

The folks balking at this research don’t realize how easy this sort of thing is if the target is at all chatty about their personal life and/or job. I’m pretty chatty in this way and I’ve had folks guess certain undisclosed details about me almost by accident. With a bit of effort, like cross-referencing linkedin or googling a username, they could’ve found much more. With as careless and as chatty as Robinson appears to have been, it would be trivial for an org as well-resourced as CNN to dig up stuff.

It wasn't so long ago people (Ukrainians was the accusation back then if I recall) were nabbing people's pictures and names off Facebook in order to create content for various sex related fleece the dumb American schemes...

I thought it was women's names and pictures they were using but that doesn't mean it didn't happen to men too.

Yes, I remember.

CNN has documented multiple pieces of data including: usernames, real names, email addresses, locations, job history, and marital status from multiple sites that all jives with each other and with what's publicly known about him. At least some of it was archived on the Wayback Machine, which means it's been up there a while.

Is it possible that this is all an elaborate ruse? Sure. However, that would've been an extremely long and elaborate game that somebody would've had to have been playing to set up somebody who, at the time, was just a rando. The more straightforward explanation is that this really was him. Again, if you wanted to set somebody up, it'd be easier to frame them for kiddy porn. You could bust them for much worse with much less effort and much less of a footprint.

Use what type of language? I went to the site myself and as others stated it's unlikely this is a setup. The site looks old and that's the way they did years ago and the other was launched in the nineties and I was on the internet during that period.

There's no mystery. He has a fetish and left breadcrumbs they were able to find. Back in the day people thought the things they did online were secret and they were anonymous because that was the narrative.

The internet provides an avenue to bring likeminded people together. That can be good or bad. More importantly, it's also a mechanism for exposure. A lot of things people fall into they weren't involved in when they entered this space.

Sexuality is color blind. Perversion occurs in all hues. One group isn't more likely than another. In spite of the narrative.

This should serve as a warning to anyone making comments on the internet. You are not anonymous and everything you say is being gathered and stored elsewhere. That's why they can pull it up. Don't say anything you couldn't say on a stage, to your family or the police. Your words may come back to haunt you.

Robinson should be denounced by everyone. This is unacceptable.

Why would he want to hide his past remarks? The extremism is his appeal. Increasingly, that's all Republicans are running on, is making the most extreme, vile rhetoric have the penumbra of respectability. They have no policies that materially benefit anybody but the top 1 percent, so "owning the libs" is the whole point.
